but half elf isn’t the term to use. They are high elves. that is basically what a modern high elf is. Think of it like a spectrum. You wouldn’t call a high elf that is 1/8th human a half elf.
Another thing you have to answer is, what will be the horde equivalent to the new alliance race? You can’t just add a race and imbalance the factions. Especially when it is a race that will be 99.9% the same as an already playable horde race. You’re essentially robbing the horde of it’s most popularly played race.
why would they be 99.9% the same as a horde race?
DO you think they can’t be made to look different? they are must be a blood elf but with blue eyes? Honestly blue eyes isn’t even the majority eye color in lore. It is just what has been associated with them in the games.
They look exactly like High Elves.
The only Half Elf that’s ever looked different was a Blue Dragon.

Kalecgos. The only human looking half elf. But he’s a dragon.
High Elves first.
Then adding Half-Elves is fine. But maybe pointless.
Well that’s literally what they are in the lore. It’s also how they are represented by the big name lore characters which get a unique model. The only thing that makes Alleria different, aside from the optional void form, is her ranger tattoos.
Which still wouldn’t be a unique thing for high elves since there’s no reason why bloodelf rangers wouldn’t have them either, just painted red or something.
And so are the Silver Covenant.
San’Layn. Forest Trolls. Dark Rangers.
Whatever. They’ve stated they may not always add Allied Races on a one for one ratio.
Right now the Horde outnumbers Alliance anyways and the Kul’tiran and Zandalari just made things worse. Way more Zandalari than Kul’tirans.
So right now the appropriate move is to add High Elves to rebalance factions slightly.
Because that’s literally what you guys keep screaming about.
“High elves are different! They have blue eyes! If belfs get blue eyes it will ruin everything!”
Their quest text states they field a battalion in Suramar alone.
Far more than Void Elves.
the silver covenant isn’t a squad. It is a military. It consists of a few battalions at minimum from what we have seen and even has a small navy.
Calling 20 guys a battallion still doesn’t make it so.
Not sure where you got that quote from.
Don’t care if Blood Elves get blue eyes.
We point out why it’s not likely. But we don’t care.
Besides, the eyes look different anyways. Blue Eyes on Blood Elves would look like Death Knights, maybe darker blue.
High Elf eyes don’t glow the same way.
That art is stretching it a bit. Since nobody has officially given a half elf an OFFICIAL look yet and all. They’re just drawing them as elves cause that’s all the artists know.
The Arator example is literally just a 1:1 copy of his NPC model straight down to the hairstyle and armor he wears. You finally got the creative freedom to make the character unique, no longer limited by the game engine… and then restrict yourself to those limitations in your art. The artist does this because that’s all he knows.
what posts are you reading? Is that what you see? If so no wonder you people don’t understand the issue. You can’t see reality and thus have no understanding of the issue.
Cite please.
does anyone have screenshots of the various outposts, military camps, and their ships on hand?
I don’t feel like flying around taking screenshots atm to prove a point so if someone has them already it would be nice to link them here.
The Arator picture is from Blizzards Published Three Sisters Comic.
So are Vereesa’s children.
That concept art is the concept art from Warcraft 3 for the rangers.
The Kalecgos picture is from the Sunwell Trilogy Manga.
Those are all official Blizzard sources.
That’s not a cite. That’s screenshots of in-game locations, which we can pretty much agree are not actually representative of how big an outpost/town/camp is supposed to be, nor its population.
You don’t have to.
There is a quest that states you join a battalion of shield mages in Suramar.
They’ve got an outpost in Northrend so you could post that.
You could also just point out that they counter the Sunreavers in Dalaran, in the Isle of the Thunder and then represent the Alliance in Suramar.
You could post the tooltip for what the Silver Covenant is in WoW.
You could also point out that since they counter the Blood Elves, then if they’re small in number it means the Blood Elf Military is terrible.
you are right. they are not. They are smaller than what they are supposed to be in their in game representation so the point you just tried to make backfired.
