Are guilds allowed to sell guild invites?

Easy solution –
Don’t pay anyone to join a guild and find another guild.
Anyone naive enough to give someone money to join a guild, well…we’ll just leave it at that.

You can repot them but Blizzard won’t do anything about it. As long they’re not selling gold or accounts blizzard is fine

Starts shoving guild people head first in flower pots full of dirt “Am I doing it right??”

There used to be a guild a long time ago that used to do this. I thought Blizzard broke them up. I can’t remember the name but they were multi-server… Huge group.

My guess is things like bragging rights or being able to flex the guild for special treatment if the guild is renown enough.

The type you are describing is certainly one I would be against.

The one I support and join though is a content creator that I have been watching on youtube for years, like I first started watching him in shadowlands and I’m pretty sure he was active before that. Like many youtubers, he has a patreon and there’s perks depending on how much you pay. I paid for the one that let me basically download his WTF folder so that I had all the same elvui and weak auras that this person uses.

Preach used to do this for free and I would download it each expansion, so I didn’t mind paying basically $10 to download the guy’s WTF folder, and especially all his WAs.

Meanwhile, the discord is definitely not a guild. It’s more like a place where people who are fans of this content creator interact, get updates when a new video comes out, and often this content creator will interact with people in the discord.

There’s no guild runs, no add-ons except the ones already included in the WTF folder. Like, he’s not charging for the add-ons, he’s just letting you see the ones he uses.

In this case, I don’t see too many issues. Actually, the more I think about it, it’s not even a guild, it’s more like just a discord community. People don’t even form groups there.

On the other hand, in the one I think they are describing, where they do run groups, where’s there always more sign-ups than places available, AND they give priority to the people that pay more … yeah, I think the issues there are very clear.

But yeah, I see your point and I guess it depends a lot on what is actually being done in the discord server. The one I think people are talking about - yeah, I was already starting to suspect something wasn’t right after only a week being there!

Many MVPs / green peeps did answer and suggested to send an email to hacks@blizzard.com with concerns and evidence.

(This email is used for more than just reporting hacks - and encompasses many concerns including RMT)

The CS forums are mainly peer to peer assistance which are heavily monitored by blues. They only jump in when they feel like they need to. Since a blue didn’t correct those people I’d assume that’s the correct method

If true, the people joining it are the last people I’d want to play with.

Huh - assuming it is the community I’m thinking it is - out of curiosity I went to check their pateron page - and noticed that they no longer list “and can join the guild” as a benefit.

Here’s the to hoping all the recent “news” and community uproar has gotten the owner to reconsider some of the ways he does things  but I suspect that’s too hopeful

Sounds like a guild of entitled losers to me, think they’re so great you gotta pay them to be in their guild when we all already pay for our subscriptions to the game. I’m sorry but those folk aren’t worth your time if they’re so scummy as to pull such a stunt, just report them to Blizz and let them handle them as that’s probably against the ToS to force real money be invovled in such things

I met a guild where they wanted a WoW token gold price to join their guild.

Nothing surprises me at this point.

As for real money I don’t know if that applies to the ToS.

report it let blizzard sort it out.

Sorry but, what??

Sorry but seriously no matter where it ws who in their right mind would pay to get int o a guild, that’s just asinine.

Idk, if a gougl is doing things like that, or communities are doing things like that to gain access to a guild, chances are that’s not as guild would want to be in anyway.

This seems to be the new trend at Blizzard, because they have become what that guild sounds like, money grabbing scoundrels with no real help when you actually need it.

I never thought I would feel this way until two of my banks got robbed. But I am enjoying TWW and the friends I play with, so I’ll shell out my 15 per month. But I’ll never buy another thing from the shop. As for paying a guild to join, sounds like blizzard found a way to double monthly subscription costs.

People are willing to pay for a lot of things you or I would consider a waste of money. Especially when they think there’s even the slightest chance it’ll get them ahead in life, game, love,…

imagine subbin to a guild

Psure this is a text book case of RMT.

I wouldn’t be any where near this guild or the players that run it.

This won’t end well.
