It’s more an issue of investment, especially in PvP which has become the red headed step child of the WoW franchise.
Ironically enough, the Guardians were pretty dang cool.
Their story was “prevent the past” and the Defiant story was “prevent the bad future.”.
People just liked red better
PvP mage armor was a lot cooler though
Very few MMO’s survive on PvP alone.
OTOH with some minimal investment they could have kept PvP as one of the more popular features of the game and maybe retained a few lost subs from people that devoted themselves to PvP. At one time, PvP was basically as popular as raiding according to Holinka.
Raiding isn’t very popular Ulfred. It was in the single digits before LFR.
This is something I’d said before. The quote was post LFR.
Holinka once said (took it down from Twitter so I can’t link) as many people do random BGs as do LFR, as many do rated 2s as do normal raids (now heroics), and as many do rated 3s as heroic (now mythic) raids.
This was before M+, when raids were basically end game for PvE.
Ahhhh, yeah that is a fair point then.
there needs to be more things to a mmoRPG than sitting in a dungeon for you entire mmoRPG time, and pvp is probably the next biggest feature outside of dungeon play, it is time it gets some more money and time invested into it, then the professions.
Capitalising the RPG but not the MMO is really weirding me out.
More popular for 60%?!?! Can I have the drugs ur smoking? Must bee good for you to believe THAT BS. Alliance hasn’t been more popular since vanilla, you know 7 expansions ago when they gave horde an alliance race to save your crap faction lol.
Edit: hordes like the banks that got bailed out a few years ago. They are ok gettitng things that make absolutely 0 sence, but when its others turns (alliance) they bi!tch nonstop LOL.
False. 39% of players got Ahead of the Curve Eternal Palace, meaning they cleared it on Heroic. That’s not even counting people who raided Heroic but didn’t clear it, or people who only did Normal.

Also false, the single digit was a reference to people who CLEARED Sunwell Plateau. Not “people who raided” (which included people like me who were still doing Black Temple at expansion’s end) not “people who did some of Sunwell Plateau but couldn’t get past Muru”.
The number of people who raid in the game is quite high. Always has been.
But blood elves are high elves.
The only ones that are still part of the alliance are either ren’dori or some npc.
I think part of the issue people think exists, story wise, is because the Alliance is established while the Horde is the plot device to set up stories. The Horde was not made as a “mixed bag” as I have seen people say in this thread. However the Horde, for the most part, does not like getting the evil stick every couple xpacs. The Alliance as it is now will never be the ones to start anything because they are the “good guys” and any time someone from the Alliance does anything wrong it gets changed later to not be bad. The Horde does not get bias people just think we do.
If classic taught us anything is the PVP is VERY POPULAR. The PVP realms are packed.
In retail PVP would be just as popular if only the PVP vendors weren’t so hard to find!
Everything going on in the world, y’all are worried that blizzard devs might like horde more than alliance?

These forums are not for me.
To be fair I’d rather look at threads about Horde bias than threads about anything happening in the world right now.
Horde bias sounds like a much more intolerable poison to swallow.
Eh, hang out around here long enough and you start getting used to it.
Someone brings it up every other week.
Yeah, what a terrible excuse. He should have just come right out and said that the ability to choose your equipment interferes with their randomized system of PvE gearing. Wouldn’t have been happy about it but wouldn’t have felt insulted that we’re too dumb to look it up in WoWHead when they tell people all the time to look up things on WoWHead.
Hey, I am perfectly fine being wrong on this one.
In terms of the Sunwell plateau matter, the matter of single digits and pvp were brought up by Blizzard back when they justified LFR in MOP
