This is probably one of the lowest IQ takes I’ve seen on the topic. It has nothing to do with not contributing and everything to do with not even getting the chance to contribute because (regardless of your experience level) you don’t have an addon made for min-max andies like yourself. Let’s use raider IO as an example. First experience with the game is end of BC, played through Wrath but didn’t raid, raided from Cata through Shadowlands (skipped WOD). I understand the game, I understand how to play the classes I choose, and I understand my role. Got AoTC in Castle Nathria (I know its not impressive) but DID NOT have raider IO installed. Come time to get into Mythics, and it is literally impossible. No group would consider ANYONE for anything higher than a +10 if they didn’t have RaiderIO. How can you justify this as ‘someone not contributing’ when you have people who won’t even let them because they don’t have an addon downloaded lmao
The log data that they pull from the wow client is actually not taken without your permission. You gave up all rights to that information as well as anything pertaining to your character when you clicked “I Agree” at the very start of your journey in this game. The terms and conditions are hundreds of pages long if you bothered to check.
You think you’re not going to get invited because you don’t have the $25 archon addon? You’re funny.
I already contributed the max for the year, so no. I actually don’t remember what I did with it. Probably put it towards paying off my car.
People want to play with people with similar goals and add-ons like these help them do so. If you just want to mess around thats perfectly fine but do so in a group that is okay with you doing that or is also doing that. Don’t try to get into a group looking to preform at a high level just so you can get carried by them while you are just messing around. This add-on will help people with similar interests more easily group up together. If you think the people trying to parse are toxic thats fine. You should be happy with this add on then cause you will never be grouped with them again. I have noticed the people complaining are the ones that dont like preforming at the highest level but like the benefits of playing with people that do.
