Yep, and most of the “good parses” are literally people failing the mechanics to have the most damage possible… They think they carry the raid but make their healer double down because they soak mechs and hope their parses pop the f out by having the most up time possible on the boss. It was so bad in early gnomer , saw literally people skipping buttons to just have more uptime on bosses…
There will be plenty of time to practice parsing when we are living in a van down by the river because management at blizzard squandered all these opportunities

I saw healer’s asking people to aoe down the caster group during hakkar so they could aoe heal for parses , smh lmfao
If no one can see logs but yourself, do you think people would care as much about parsing? People care because they know they’re being judged by them.
Some people would care since there’s certainly people who like to play well for it’s own sake.
But there’s definitely a group of people who only care about the fact that their parse is higher than someone elses.
They don’t want casual players to play the game they want them to quit and play another game.
The website is not gathering the data, Blizz is and they are just using it to produce their logs. If it were an issue it wouldnt have been around for 10 years.
The only issue with archon is the fact the scumbags are expecting you to pay for it. The addon only adds convenience, people always looked your character up before adding you to a group, now you just get declined faster.
Ok, once again we fail to grasp the simple nature of my point.
Data is an asset. There is stuff in tos that protects blizzard from people giving them the data pimp hand. There is also regulatory language that discusses all of this in their financial disclosures etc. Dodd Frank requires it… this data is valuable and it is part of blizzard’s management’s responsibility to protect these assets from outside profiteering. Perhaps you remember the NFLs attempts to squeeze fantasy football.
Basically if I invest in Microsoft I want to make sure that they are doing to job to use their assets to make profits. That is their fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders.
The entire issue is money bro. Once you make money using other peoples property they can say “give me some”. There is precedent with all of this. Companies are supposed to protect their assests and use them to make money for their shareholders
It is not in Microsoft’s interest for WCL to use this data to make money.
This is a violation of TOS and Blizzard’s responsibility to their shareholders.
There is no opposing argument that is valid here… the only thing you can say is that the amounts are “immaterial” to a company as large as blizzard

The onlu argument you need is that your damage numbers are not your private information and Blizzard willingly gives this data to the players. There is nothing objectively wrong with archon beyond the fact the addon is being sold.
It uses blizzard’s property to make money.
Blizzards TOS explicitly lays all that out.
Not only does this violate TOS but when blizzard does nothing it violates their agreement with shareholders That is where this can be interesting. People lose jobs like this all the time.
Someone like me steps in and approaches other shareholders at Microsoft. This is how a proxy vote to remove a board works and actually occurs in the real world.
Blizzard is neglecting their duty to maximize their profits by not pursuing this further. Their complacency looks like complicity. I am willing to bet there are Blizzard employees involved with WCL and RestedXP. It is the only reason for this. It is money that is right there. No one wants to rock the boat.
So here is the deal.
Give me proxy rights to vote on your behalf of the next shareholders meeting at Microsoft. I will oust the board and replace it with industry outsiders who will bring a diverse understanding of business operations so this kind of failure never happens again.
I will get our half. I won’t allow third party data pirates to steal from your retirement. I will get RestedXP and WCLs fingers off your kids college funds.
I will get you what is owed.

I’m far from a grey parser, the last week I was in the raid we had an orange clear time in ST… but I still absolutely will not play the game if they allow this type of addon.
It literally encourages toxicity as if there isn’t enough already.
This post is proof of it. You think Zumer would be posting as a level 20 mage if he had amazing parses on his main? Probably not… and for me to even bring it up is me lowering my standards to make a point.
This whole culture of judging players value off of their parse is going to destroy the game for the majority of players… It’s already happening, and the easier it becomes to pass judgement the quicker it’ll destroy the game.
My main has an average 99 parse. I post on this because people here have problems not even medical professionals can fix.
Imagine playing wow for 20 years and still clench over trivial accomplishments.
Sorry, I’ll use plain English. People that use parsing as some kind of trophy and as a means to put others down are most likely losers with social issues.

I love how disliking the way an addon / wcl is affecting the game automatically makes you a grey parser as a way of invalidating your opinion.
I’ve got plenty of pink / orange parses. These were from raiding in a very average dad guild and I’d be more progressively drunk as the run went on. So these sweatlords claim to fame is something I’ve done without even trying essentially. It’s hilarious.
The way in which parsing has been used has tainted this games community irreparably. It has nothing to do with my or anyone with a similar opinions ability to play the game. SoD is easily cleared by blue / green parsers, so using that as an excuse for the practice of parse checking pugs is plain stupid. It’s just a way to project superiority and gatekeep and unfortunately the sheep are following the meta these antisocials have established, without even fully understanding the concept.
