Well I think I already posted about 100 pages explaining that I understand that Blizzard owns the data but that, this data is Actually the property of Microsoft’s shareholders. It is an asset that was recorded as “goodwill” during the merger.
Management at Blizzard is allowing these pirates to steal this data and sell it for $25 subscriptions and advertising revenue.
It is the duty of management to protect these assets like stated in Dodd Frank.
Not only are they violating TOS by profiteering in this way, Blizzard is neglecting their fiduciary responsibility to Microsoft’s shareholders.
Most of us have 401k or some type of IRA…. It most likely uses Microsoft to stabilize your portfolios beta value.

As I said before the problem isn’t so much using it for raids.
However the fact that the data will be right there in your face will mean people using it are going to form judgements about nonraid issues based on a person’s parse.
Things that right now a person wouldn’t even go bother looking a person up for.

Guilds are great for that yes. I would say the same people people who are looking to not try hard. They can find a casual guild to join. This add-on is a QoL improvement for filling spots in raids. The truth is that people who care are going to look up your parses with or without the add-on. This just makes it quicker. If you want to be invited to top tier groups then put top tier level of effort into your character. People get along better with people who share the same goal as them. You want to play the game how you want to play thats great. So let the people that want to the game a little more serious play how they want to play as well. It seems the only people who really care about this change are the ones who under preform. Will it be harder to get into PUGS if you parse bad? Ya probably, but the groups you do get into will be more aligned with your goals and your playstyle. If you dont like the slower clear times and more wipes then put more effort into your character and you will get into better groups. If you really notice a problem then most likely you have been getting carried this whole time and you will be getting carried less now.
Its time to cook addons. Im sick of them anyway.
Maybe a little but I really think your over reacting here. Most people wont care outside of raids because you are not risking a lockout and a chunk of time. I care a ton about parsing because thats I like that competitive part of the game but outside of raid and PVP there really is no competition. If someone is garbage then they will just be kicked from the group anyways if the group cares that much.
Well , my post does complains about it yet , I always run ST with triple WB, every elixir possible and like I said, I like to be optimised. But I am in favor of everyone owning their privacy and even if I have orange parses , some of my friends doesn’t and it pains me to see them get rejected because they can’t put 8 hours a day in a game to fully masters it even though they do way enough damage to clear the content.
The big point of all this is just that the more options we give to players to be able to collect data from an individual, the more you become just a number and the day that the whole community becomes a number , trust me, it’s gonna collapse the whole purpose of playing an mmorpg. I’d rather chose an individual that seems nice to me and make him learn the game than pick an addict that might just thrash you if you make a mistake.

The only data add-ons I’d keep is the damage meters, it creates a bit of toxicity but also a lot of positivity since even if you bring an off méta build an pop off, people might be amaze that you manage to do this much haha. It’s also nice for personal references.
They should implement certain addons into the game. Get rid of 3rd party.
