We understand that the only fossil reward left to get is the pterrordax hatchling, if you were able to find it you’d have -50% chance to have fossil dig sites. This would make farming the 1k+ dwarf and troll fragments to have a 1% chance at the weapons slighely easier on eastern kingdoms, therefore we have decided to keep the hatchling at 525 just to make sure you suffer properly. We would like to tell the community to respectfully get %#$%.

you’d think it would work like that but it doesn’t. Being able to find all the items doesn’t increase your chances, people have had the entire troll section filled out for 1000 solves and it hasn’t done anything
So basically fossil sites will continue to be overrepesented because we cant get all of its rare drops.
Thought you guys dropped this ‘no changes’ garbage.?

if it doesnt work like that then blizzard are truly evil for that one imo
What I mean is that once you have the rares from the other races, you’ll start to see more Troll sites pop up instead of random NE/Dwarf. At least I hope!
This doesn’t fix Fossil though, with hatchling being 525 those will still plague your digsites.

yeah, but you can’t complete fossil, which is most of the filler, because the pterrordax isn’t in the game til 525
These changes are just bugfixes which have no real impact on how quickly you’ll get your item, unless you have the dwarf staff already and are looking for zinrokh
Exactly, you will be plagued with Fossil for awhile and even Nerubian if you haven’t completed its rares.

no you’ll always be plagued with fossil in the prepatch as it can’t be completed at all
They aren’t going to make any substantive changes - it literally took them a week to fix items that just werent working correctly. Its sad that they are letting this unfold where people are spending an insane amount of time to get mediocre weapons just because there is nothing else to do.

thats why my last sentence was written that way, basically blizz telling us to get bent on fossil until launch. I fully understand they dont owe us anything, but i dont have to like it either.

completely understand, it was an out of touch moment in my opinion, the players are more than willing to rake themselves over the coals to get a pre bis item a month early,
Archaeology is just not built for the modern audience, it wasn’t much liked in original cata and its even less liked now. I would have put the items at 346 but its too late now I think

EDIT: (supposedly) people are finding blues multiple times now so even if they have everything they can just repeatedly get the same rares. (nevermind seems to be an addon UI error)

yeah but im trying to verify if anyone has posted a screenshot of the actual items in bag not just on the addon UI. just to make sure its not a ui error so maybe hold the beer on that one
Yeah I’d hold my breath on that for a bit. User error seems a bit more likely.
