Arachnophobia filter...seriously

If you really want to have fun drop some spider gifs. :stuck_out_tongue:

Did you get this mad when they made accessibility options for dragonriding? Or color blindness? Or motion sickness?

It doesn’t change for you. So it doesn’t affect you.

I have Aichmophobia, particularly for needles. I can not look at someone get blood drawn, a shot, I get incredibly anxious when I need to have either of those things done (last time I had to have blood drawn they needed to try again because the vein stopped giving them blood and I actually did start crying), even jist hearing and talking about needles makes me uncomfortable to the point thay I scratch my inner elbows for a form of comfort. Talking about this is torture for me.

That being said, I have multiple piercings and a tattoo. The tattoo wasn’t bad, just mildly uncomfortable due to the pain itself, but the piercings? The last piercings I got I had to have someone come with to hold my hand. But that’s the thing, phobias are irrational and don’t always make sense. Although there is a reason I have an easier time with piercings than medical needles but I really need to stop talking about it because I already want to crawl out of my skin.

The “worst” thing about this filter is that it could mean no playable spider race. :dracthyr_cry_animated:

Yes but triggering you made up for it!

I used to now I stare directly at the needle and watch the blood fill up. It works if you do it enough times. Promise.

my grandfather once said when i was little i played with spiders. idk what triggered my phobia of them.

but pixel spiders ? its on a screen lol

Yeah even with all my ink, I had to make sure I didn’t see the tattoo actually getting stabbed into my skin because it gave me the heebie jeebies. Same for shots. I’ll get them. Its just the idea of seeing blood leave my body like that. Ew do not like.

Giant spiders in old movies just look like big, dumb, fuzzy puppets.

True that would suck…

Yeah but giant spiders in WoW just look like big dumb fuzzy cartoons and they seem to be a problem, so…

Huntsman spider nests are great to look at. Especially when all the little ones scurry around.

im pretty sure even phobes of spiders love jumping spiders. so cute

Who knew that responding to someone with a logical question suddenly meant I was triggered.

There’s a therapy that revolves around just that called Prolonged Exposure. It’s done in a guided secure safe environment in a way that allows the person to slowly expose themselves to what causes them anxiety. As someone who has done the thearpy through the VA hospital system, I can assure you that A) its not a cure, it only decreases symptoms & B) It doesn’t work for everyone.

I’m sure with your advanced degree in psychology and years of clinical experience as a psychotherapist you must have other methodologies you can also suggest to help people overcome their phobia’s and anxiety, right?

You must not have seen many spiders then.

No. Nope nada totally nope. If you want accidents to happen, suggest this to people.

Last time I did that, I fainted, the nurse flipped out, I slid down the chair and hit the concrete with the back of my head. Nope. NOT a good advice to give at ALL.

Kudos it worked for you. but PLEASE do not think it works like that for everyone cause it did for you!

Personally, I prefer to not submit to myself to mental anguish for something that may not work for me and could cause me to unintentionally harm myself by scratching my arms too much.

Yeah, I’ll still get shots, not happily though. The idea of blood leaving my body doesn’t bother me so much (probably because I deal with it on a monthly basis), it’s all about the needle itself. I need to go look at anything besides my phone right now though for a palate cleanser.

Am I the only one who didn’t put it together that the Arachnophobia mode that turns all the spiders into crabs is for people with arachnophobia and just saw it as a funny meme :skull::skull::skull:
