Arachnophobia filter...seriously

Yeah bloods weird for me. I used to be one of those weirdos that drank my own blood as a kid if I got hurt. That part doesn’t phase me.

Just something about watching a vial fill up with my blood. No clue why. Just makes something in my brain screech lol.

And I got some STUPID phobias thanks to totally mundane things that happened to me as a kid

I mean I’ve seen a few.

Anyway, those crab gifs are from the movie “Mysterious Island” which I saw on Svengoolie. It was stupid, but not even fun stupid (which is what I was hoping for). The giant crab was the best part and that was in the first 15 min of the movie.

I promise, you are incorrect. What I think you meant to say was “It worked for me.” It’s rather arrogant, and ignorant, to assume your methods are 100% successful for everyone.

When I was younger I googled stuff and found “fear of nothing” or the number zero, and at the time I was like PFFFF ooookay.

But as I grew up I literally got that now. So weird.

Where is Bread asking for all Draenei to be changed into toasted tea cakes?

What about those who have a fear of sharks? Those who are afraid of heights? Those who are afraid of crabs? Those who are afraid of lizards and reptiles?

The point is that time and effort went into something that not even 0.01% of the total player base would have an interest in. Even if it was only one developer who did this, that is one developer who could have fixed numerous bugs, glitches, or helped work on something that would provide actual content faster. Even if it was by only a day or two faster.

It is a waste of time and effort and people like you try to dismiss any actual criticism with weaponized empathy.

One of the biggest problems of our time right here.

You both just reminded me of something. We have a family friend who for the longest time thought she was afraid of blood (as in seeing it) to the point she could pass out, her occupation today is nurse. Why? Not because of exposure therapy, she realized that she was freaked out by seeing her own blood, but the blood of others is totally fine. Phobias are weird.

Arachnophobia may be a start and there could be other filters in the future or means of filtering out npcs or situations.

Each person is different and what is weaponized empathy?

Oh no. A few minutes were used up for a filter of one of the most common phobias. So that all sorts of people can still play the expansion.

I hate when Sendryn and I somewhat agree on something

A fear of spiders is pretty common. Heights as well. Short of making everything everywhere no larger than a small hill I don’t see how they could address peoples’ fears of heights.

I kinda figured thats what the “Just have your buddy fly you around if you want” with Dragonriding was. Well it was that or motion sickness / physical handicaps.

I have it enabled just incase someone needs to use it for w/e reason.

My guess is it was the motion sickness/physical handicaps.

I have a fear of heights. I’d prefer they don’t address it at all.

I think you’re reading too far into it.

Arachnophobia is more common for one, and the toggle isn’t solely there to curate peoples fear. As many have pointed out, they would toggle it on just because it’s funny to turn NPC’s into crabs.

I have a fear of nothing, going into a void themed expansion. What are they gonna do, replace void with trees? And rainbows?

On second thought that doesn’t sound so bad.

Wanna know what made my arachnophobia worse? Exposure therapy. Multiple sessions of “hold the spider, see it wont hurt you” just made it worse.
