If the future of this game is that all transportation is to be based on DR then there is no future in this game for me and my family.

I don’t mind dragonflying now I got all the glyphs but that process is really stressful for me because I can’t stand heights so I am a bundle of nerves by the time I am done.

That was my point. He was criticizing someone for posting on a level 29 character that isn’t affected by dragonriding. We all know that people post on alts. Obviously the toon is an alt, especially with an achievement score of more than 13k.

At this point it definitely seems like they’ll have to make DR work everywhere. Too many people like it. The question is, do they have the stones to cut off old flying at that point?

Yes, genius, and a person with a level 29 character and an achievement score of 13800 obviously has max level toons. Sorry you’re too slow to get my point.

But they could easily have made almost everyone (not the hardcore anti-flyers) happy by just allowing both systems from launch. That was a softball and they fouled it right off their groin instead of knocking it out of the park.

I understand all the frustration, I felt the same way… if you have curseforge there is an add on that shows you every glyph in dragonflight all zones… when they introduced the new professional system I hated it seriously( because I was in beta) it was awful so confusing … im doing it live its so easy and simple and nice… I was totally wrong… you have to try it …there are steps you have to take to learn it … its not like you get the quest and BOOM … you can fly all over the world … there have been sooooooo many videos (streamers) showing want to do how to do it… since ALPHA… blizzard and the streamers told us all this information from the get go … why is everyone so surprised and shocked I have no idea…*practice makes perfectYOU HAVE TO MAKE SOME KIND OF EFFORT NOT EVERYTHING IS HANDED TO YOU ON A SILVER PLATTER

I don’t think they will ever remove regular flying. As I said before, I think the two are capable of coexisting in the same space because there are trade-offs with both that don’t render the other useless.
As for regular flying coming to the Dragon Isles? I’m doubtful considering the environmental puzzles that are intrinsic to dragon riding’s progression. The only way I ever see it happening is if Blizzard unlocked all dragon riding abilities and glyphs for us or created an opt-in/opt-out feature where regular flying is activated but the rewards for dragon riding are then removed.

Honestly, Im not even sure how that would work.
Assuming Ion pulls an Ion here, Id bet you’ll HAVE to have DRing to X point in order for normal flight to open up.
There was never a doubt that a % of players would have a very hard time with this.
Waiting to see if the wifes going to do ok with DRing when she opens it up or not.
Give normal flight, but make AFK flying impossible by making it so if the mount isnt moving forward, it slowly falls to the ground. This would at least simulate what I think they were doing with DF well enough with normal flight…ie I think part of it is to force you to land if you arent actively flying.

Systems exist on more than one axis. Convenience or friction; aesthetic or functionality; engagement or mindlessness. There are different degrees of fun beyond the convenient-functional-midless extreme of conventional flight, and some of them are inherently less expedient.
I’m not devaluing your own taste. But considering conventional flight was in place for 8 expansions, maybe a different model for a different crowd could have it’s turn at the wheel for 1 expansion?

I just got to that point in the story, but I’m going to bet there isn’t. My bet is that it is going to be just as integrated as garrisons were in WoD (you know those things that everyone said back then were optional)
