I am not sure how they can solve this problem long term but the short term fix is normal flying to be enabled soon.

Do you have motor skill issues?
If not, please try to not tell those that have such issues that they don’t have issues.
The dragonriders can have their fun, I don’t care about that, as long as they allow me to have my fun.
They don’t seem willing to share the skies with the rest of us. (shrugs)
I still have 5 months until my sub terminates and maybe they will enable mounts. If not, then I’ll sit out the rest of the expansion and see what 11 brings.
I will not complete the quest chain to enable DR, even once. I fundamentally reject the basic system. I have no interest in my transportation system being a mini-game and I am tired of expansion specific mechanisms.
If they don’t enable my existing flying mounts, then this expansion is dead to me.
I wonder how many raids were dropped to build DR. What a waste.
Suppose you could have someone who knows how to drive convert his to a 2 seater and drive you around until you learn how to work a dragon yourself.
Only way I can think of. I’d bet a majority of the places you could hoof it on ground mounts like the days of olde, there isn’t too much aside from 1 dungeon I’ve seen that really requires it, even then, someone can 2 seat and carry you.
Listen to what I am about to say.
It is going to be a battle. Normal flying will prevail though. We are on the right side of history.
Agreed, this is probably the largest percentage of people experiencing accessibility problems. I even noticed it when i first did a full-speed time trial, and I’m not usually prone to it. I’m not sure how it could be fixed without reducing the speed of flight; an option for removal of the visual effect might help
OP get a friend to bring you through the places for the glyphs, trust me it makes the flying a LOT more bearable.
I’ve historically been a big critic of this game and I’m pro-flying but i have to say…Dragonriding is awesome. it’s def MUCH better when you’re maxed on everything but i can fly/soar/glide whatever you want to call it from zone to zone at 800+ speed. this is awesome since there’s no way they will ever allow flying on launches. my alts get max dragonriding instantly…so far I’m actually enjoying this xpac and mostly because of the dragonriding.
That’s the same argument that the people that are pro-flying always try and make two people that are against flying.
it boils down to the same core problem.
regular flying is superior at farming nodes.
I have functional movement disorder. Fine motor skills are one thing that has affected my ability to play PC games. When it gets bad, I am limited to mouse-only games such as Civilization VI since I lack the fineness to handle the keyboard.
Being a PC enthusiast, I cannot build my own PC’s anymore.
As for dragon riding, get high enough, point your dragon in the right direction, and then glide to your destination. Hands-free flying. When you are above your destination, DIVE!
And speaking of dragon riding, I’d love to see a race track in the Blade’s Edge Mountains.
You and me both. i’ve been stuck on the first dragon flying quest for a few days now and just don’t see how i can make the small adjustments needed to get through the rings - because, as we all know, flying through rings is a critical game skill that will come in handy over and over, right?
will this new skill be required in any of the new instances, bgs, arenas, raids or in any professions? yeah, i didn’t think so.
Dragon Riding is great. Best get used to it for at least the better part of a year. That’s about as short of a time period I think they’d go before “maybe” adding in regular flying as a Pathfinder Achievement unlock.
Sounds like Blizzard should maybe add in regular flying immediately for people who absolutely cannot tolerate dragonriding.
Maybe make it extra slow … perhaps 150% speed. That way only the people who absolutely cannot tolerate dragonriding for health reasons would want to use it.
In a year when Pathfinder comes out they can release 310% flying.
Hey there. Not sure if you’ve figured out a way to deal with this or not yet, (or if that’s even possible), but I saw this today and thought you might want to check it out.
Scroll down to #11, where they list addons for Dragonriding. One is about giving better controls. If that one doesn’t help, there might be more/others.

All Blizzard really needs to do is allow players the option to purchase flying whenever they have enough gold to afford it. There was nothing wrong with that system.
Sry that you can’t afk while in the air.
I mean…you knew about Dragon Riding for how long now? Did you think it was going to be anything other than what they told you it was?
I think paying gold to purchase flying was ok … before implementation of the cash money shop.
Since they added that, I’m against making anything like this require significant amounts of gold.
I really like it. I’m sorry that some people are having difficulty. Maybe they could create a toy or an enchant or something that lets you hop up on ledges because otherwise you don’t really need to fly. Or maybe a belt buckle that makes you jump like the Saurok on Thunder Island.
