This is it in a nutshell. But it’s all good because I’m sure that each and every dragon riding cultist will be more than happy to buy hundreds of accounts to compensate for the loss of all the unworthy scrubs who dare to think that choices and inclusivity are negatives.
On the bright side, many of us will be free to discover incredible games, games whose developers will be happy to have us as customers

Agreed. However, knowing how deeply Ion loathes flying, they’d likely make it far too expensive (~10 million) for most players to afford out of spite. Blizz has been hardlining this “Play how we want you to play” garbage for years now, much to their own detriment. It’s been said many times and it’s true,“The only thing that can kill WoW is WoW.”
A lot of the replies in this thread remind of “Green eggs and ham”.

What, in any sense, shape, or form MAKES ANYONE assume normal flying aka swimming in the air is returning? What makes you think there WILL BE a path finder at all? the design for dragon riding is AMAZING and you can agree or disagree but it is fast, fluid, and yes requires omg, brain power and you can’t just “lol fly in air and afk flying to a random spot” anymore, and that is good. Its fantastic in its current shape and ONLY can and will get better.
If you are all clinging that they will not go hard on this feature and return to a out dated,swim in the air, flow, plodding form of flying you all should just quit now because there has been no blue post, dev question asked, or any suggestions they are going to bring "old flying’ in its old form back: If anything I see the system expanding and going to old mounts as well.
This new flying as say ENGAGES the player with the world and you just can’t fly high up into the air, afk, or afk fly to whatever spot you want. Flying always needed to be upgraded: I personally thought there needed to be a sense of danger: but I will take the sense of wonder it brings, swooping, scooping, twirling, and speeding across zones.
TLDR: you people waiting for swim air fishing are going to be very disappointed I feel: no signs or even hints it is coming to dragon flight at all, and might replace flying all together!

The only thing I haven’t done in Dragonflight and won’t do are the races and PVP. Surely they would not lock flying behind either one of those. The speed of dragon riding makes me dizzy. It’s not pleasant. But I am loving the story of the expansion.
the “races” don’t need to be done fast… you only need to complete the course to get bronze.
Also, I have to say and I by no way have an issues with someone who is impaired in some way and that is not the point of this comment: But suddenly its like every single person (and again, posting from an alt…so…troll? pot stirring?) has some impairment that makes dragon riding a thing they can’t do.
I mean, its insane but I never saw so many one handed players suddenly pop or, or players with flash head aches because of the ‘dizzying speeds’ and getting sick…I mean you guys know how that works right? If the speeds bother you, the flashing lights, colors, spells, that every single one of us do and happens inside raids and dungeons should do…so does your Impairments only select dragon flying as a trigger but the rest is “lol np?” Curious, asking for a friend.

If you choose to “ride along” with someone who has that option unlocked, do you get credit for whatever quest required the dragonriding?
IF so, then for those unable to complete the dragonriding on their own, that seems to be a good alternative.
yes: you can also collect the dragon coins if you are riding with a friend: JUST NOTE your friend might have to swoop back around and go through the coin for you or you could miss it!
i have to admit that i’m kind of confused how people who have severe disabilities are able to find a way to adapt, and they do it without feeling the need to complain first.
if they’re having any issues, their first option is to ask for assistance/guidance/ideas/addons …anything which can help.
…but there seems to be a subset of players (who non-ironically seem to be the same ones who complain about EVERYTHING) who aren’t even willing to give it a go.

I’m like pretty sure that the usual suspects that complain about dragon riding are for the most part the same person or the same two people.

Is that the plan? Post a screen shot, a source, a video of “that’s the plan” because I would love to see it, I never heard anything of that plan. Maybe I missed it: you have inside scoop clearly so please, show me the post where that is the plan.
I will also accept my brothers friends mothers who has a friend that is named chuck whos dad knows a kid named rick and rick knows the lead dev of the guy who made world of tanks who is the brothers friend second left sister removed from there fathers side works at blizzard so I know this for a fact as your source.

my first attempt, i jumped off the ledge and plummeted straight to the ground… and got stuck there.
then i put on my big rabbit pants, and tried again until i figured out what i did wrong 
Might be late to this but dragon riding in released version is amazing. Yeah its not as brainless as old flight but its great. Does suck at first until you can build into the skill tree but once you do its good. I spent a hour or so getting all of the floaty icons across entire map and unlocked all traits. 6 energy and rapid regen, you can fly from one end of the map to the other and then across never touching ground.
I know opinion is just that but I do like it better as its more involved.
Once you unlock the blue dragons and get that swirling speed boost of DOOM talent I have never slowed down once, I flew from Azure whatever, to the horse peoples fields to waking shore with no issues (I do have all the dragon talents unlocked as well tho)

The exact words are " long term, flying with your regular mounts is still the plan.", and I’m interpreting “long term” as meaning 10.1 or 10.2

Shame, Old flying should die and rot and second
Blizzard takes back stuff all the time, that is from 4/30 so while a source: I hope its just ion being ion and saying what people want to hear then goes “lol nah btw we lied” like he always does.
Game needs to evolve forward so, as said its a source, he said it, but Ion also said there is a ripcord to pull: then lol no there is no ripcord: then LOL wait no there is really a ripcord to pull in shadowlands.
