Ok so apparently using a VPN MIGHT be our only work around. I was able to log in flawlessly.
The servers got Nuked while the devs are on holiday 
I can log in just as long as I don’t log in my HM Tauren Rogue …all my other characters will load…but if I use Dragon Flight portal I am screwed…
I’ve noticed Twitter is having a variety of problems, some other sites like YouTube are having a few problems (notifications not showing up, etc…) so it may not necessarily be the game or may be the game but also the internet.
Idk, not tech savvy but thought I’d mention it. Will try a vpn if I continue having problems.
It seems most other places are fine except Dragon Flight. So ig just dont play current content
VPN is the solution for now.
These issues have been happening since a certain someone bought it and tried to turn it into a nickel and dime site to recoup their loses for buying it for too much. Completely unrelated.

This is still happening, 3rd day in a row with frequent unable to load into Valdrakken and character with that name already exists. ANY NEWS would be good news about now…
I don’t think so. What I mean by having problems is there seems to be a throttle on new info coming out onto the internet.
Access to new info, maybe. Again, I’m not tech savvy just what I’ve noticed.
Now I’m hearing that some gov’ts want to shut down parts of the internet so Idk.

Yeah, having the same issues with long load screens and trying to hop back in on a toon and it saying “Character name already exists”… Also doing arenas and people aren’t able to accept arena queues. It’s been happening all week and it just seems worse today.
I’ve been getting dc’d and then I can’t log back in as that character for like an hour

Having the same issue here, unable to login to my characters now due to the character name already existing.

I had trouble on one character last night. I tried hearthing and the loading bar stopped about halfway. I killed the game and when I logged back in I was getting the Character with same name is on message. I played another character for a while then went back and was able to play the character that had been stuck. I haven’t tried yet today so I don’t know if it is still doing that or not. The character is on Sen’jin NA server.
yes i play on the dreanor server and it been bugged like crazy now for last 4 days

This needs to remain the top post in GD, over the general noise of GD. This is a persistent problem.

One would hope - the forums (GD and Tech Support) have been non-stop about this issue this morning. Twitter comments are also pretty direct about whats going on. And it sounds like there are several tickets submitted concerning this issue.
I’m just curious, like many, why Bliz hasn’t said anything yet, not even a generic “We are aware some players are experiencing problems. We are looking into it and expect to have a solution #soon”.

This is exactly what’s been happening to me on just one character: dc’d multiple times when logging in, mailbox is laggy, freeze up when landing on fp’s, and then name already exists error. Just started happening two days ago.
I appreciate using a VPN might be a “work around” solution but it doesn’t solve the issue. What happens if you don’t want to use a VPN? It’s not required by the game. Like I have said before, I get there will be issues and downtime, but Blizzard is awful in letting their customers know what is going on. I get they can’t get into the specifics but a “we know there is an issue and looking into it” would go a long way. Asking the player base to start using a VPN is not a solution to the problem.

Add these concerns to the various tech support posts regarding this. More visibility on the issue towards the folks that fix that sort of thing would be great. I’m personally interested! Would love to see this fixed or at least acknowledged.
EDIT: Oh no, they saw me post. I landed off my flight point and am stuck on the flight point mount and can’t move or dismount. They’re out to get me!!! 
Oh no, loading screen. Or lack thereof… I’ve actually never had this happen while just arriving on a flight point to/from zones that don’t require loading.
