If they actually hated flying these days they wouldn’t have put as much work into dragonriding and improving zone design to make use of it.
People just need to get over themselves and stop throwing tantrums during the rare instances where flight isn’t available. Run around. Immerse yourself in the setting.
You can, but it has to be(I assume) something not on action bar 1 because that becomes the vehicle bar. I’ve been able to consistently charge straight from the driver seat.
It’s amusing to think that my ancient light-forged draenei space marine who flies a holy mecha-suit and lives in a low orbit space-station is struggling to drive a 1986 ford station wagon.
Drifting through the cluttered streets and sliding between buildings is what makes it fun. It wouldn’t be any fun to drift around a flat field with no risk of hitting anything
I don’t know if I like it or hate it because my lag is so bad down there in Undermine, and when I accelerate in the car I just teleport all over the place. Once I can play normally I’ll decide lmao
Clipping random ground clutter and being dismounted from the drive system when a puddle splashes you is pretty sad… any time liquid touches the drive system I get dismounted like It’s 2009 or something.
With the zones lag it is pretty bad. Ive used it a couple times questing after unlocking it and doing the first delivery quests and its okay for going really far distances that are mostly straight lines on a main road, but once im anywhere near im back to travel form.
My only fear is they pull a Tindral or nokhud at some point and we have to use it in a boss fight.
The issue I have with it is that it just doesn’t seem to fit the zone very well. It’s like the zone has stuff to run into every few feet, but once you get the hang of it, you are one end to the other in seconds. It would feel like a better option in a zone that was large and open enough at you could actually drive it.
This is an important part to talk about. I too love racing and driving games, but not the DRIVE system because it’s just completely the opposite of the design of the undermine town.
It’s pretty obvious and apparent to any driving/racing game enjoyer why the drive system doesn’t work and is awful to use.
A large part of why driving/racing games are enjoyed is because, well, you get to actually drive, lol. With the DRIVE system you are just playing a poorly designed bumper car game while trying to desperately get to your next destination, that isn’t fun, it’s annoying.
