Anyone else cold?

In the south? Yes, pretty much. When there’s only one big snowstorm every ten years, it makes little sense to invest in snow removal equipment.

Well where I’m at its -9 atm.

We got icky snow drifts thanks to the winds.Gunna be cold all week.

My area does have plows but alot of them were called back to the garage due to conditons.

There are times its not safe even for snow plowers.

I’m in Hot Springs Village. The sleet only lasted about an hour, but now the snow is coming down. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m in the Piney area myself, down 270 toward Mt. Ida. Small world!

In the Pacific Northwest we’re iced in until about Wednesday, slippery ice everywhere.

The most frustrating thing is that every time this happens, about once a year, even when ice storms have been in the forecast for over a week the state transportation department is like, “THIS WAS COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED THERE’S NOTHING WE CAN DO”.

And yet employers still expect employees to show up to serve the nobody coming in to their workplaces because everyone is trapped at home. My daughter went to a conference in a mountain town (despite the weather warnings ) and is stuck there now with no way to get back. She asked at the hotel if she could extend her stay since she literally can’t even get into her car with four inches of ice holding the doors closed much less go anywhere even if she does and they’re like, “Mmmm, I don’t know, we’re all booked up.”

And she’s like, “GIRL.” Do they really think that all the tourists who were going to come down are somehow going to make it through the ice rink highways all to come and be stuck in frickin’ Eugene Oregon right now?

Pretty much, yes. And just hope it doesn’t get as bad as it did here in Winter 2020/2021.

The whole area basically went to a stand still. My wife and I were property managers at the time for a condo complex down not far from Airport Rd. We kept getting calls from tenants “we can’t get out of the parking lot, do something!” Bro, what do you want us to do!? Do you see a plow truck parked anywhere?? We can’t even get out of our driveway ourselves!

I know exactly the road you’re talking about. I rented a house on the end near the Walmart Marketplace for a couple of months before we moved here.

I know that area very well. The condo complex I mentioned was down Marion Anderson, so it sounds like you were somewhere near the corner of Adcock and Airport. We lived there on Marion Anderson from 2016 to 2020, then we bought a house in early fall of 2020 over by Sunset Cove off 270. Definitely a small world! That’s wild! :beers:
