Any recourse for leader removing us from M+ at the end?

My friend and I were running a M+2 today and the run was going pretty smoothly. We were trying to get our 4 heroics/mythics done before tomorrow. Well, we’re on the last boss of Ara-Kara, City of Echoes and my friend dies twice and I die once. So after a slow kill, the group is successful. The leader, so outraged that we died on it removes us from the group and doesn’t resurrect us. This boots us out before we can make our way back to loot the chest and when I call them out he blocks me.

This is the first time I’ve experienced this type of toxic behavior and was unaware that the chest is “lost” I suppose? It’s not like we needed anything from it but boy did this bug us. Out of all the mythics I’ve done, I’ve never seen or been a part of this. Is there any recourse? Reporting in game seems to be lacking in this type of reporting.

His group he can do what he wants jerk move yes actionable no.

Unfort. You hate to see it.

That shouldn’t have an impact, if you’d won an item it would’ve been mailed to you by the postmaster, and the other rewards are automatically put into your inventory. Especially considering the run was over, I don’t believe there’d be anything reportable, though I’d certainly slap him on the ignore list for that.

We never got to loot the chest and we played for another hour or so and we didn’t get anything rewarded to us via mail or in our bags. Google searching this resulted in people saying that things don’t auto loot into your characters if you don’t open the chest. Don’t know how recent the post was.

Unfortunately a GM wont be able to generate loot for u.

I can’t say for certain, but there’s only a 2/5 chance of having gotten an item to begin with and I’ve read before that players who are removed are still eligible for loot from a cleared key. If you were able to see what other folks got that’d potentially inform you as to whether or not something was meant to drop for you but wasn’t mailed. That sounds like a bug that’d need to be reported if so, but Darth is correct unfortunately, a GM wouldn’t be able to assign loot to you that the game didn’t actually give you.

Thanks for the fast replies, didn’t think the forums were this active!

Oh, you’d be surprise on how active the forums can really be.

If it makes you feel better, players of that sort don’t tend to progress well.

The best players I have ever met tended to be troubleshooters and coaches. They’re more inclined to work toward a goal than just point fingers.

Can confirm, Amaelalin has carried me through several through several expansions at this point lol

Everything else has pretty much been covered - but I did want to touch on this a bit. While what the leader did was a jerk move, as others above me have clarified, that part isn’t reportable. BUT, what tends to get people in trouble is this sort of thing.

Just to make sure I’m clear here, I’m not implying you did or said anything that was reportable. I have no knowledge of the situation beyond the information you’ve provided, and it’s not my place to know because it’s between you, the other player and Blizzard.

People can get understandably upset with this kind of behavior and tempers can flare. What that person did, again, jerk move. But whispering someone to call them out can equally be considered toxic behaviour. Language that violates the CoC, general toxicity, folks who may jump to an alt after being blocked just so that they can get in a last word around the ignore? These are 100% actionable if it’s reported. And a lot of the time people who come here suddenly silenced or suspended are nipped by this part of an interaction. Not the initial bit about being booted out of a group.

Just something to keep in mind, and also for anyone who trips over this thread in the future.

Doesn’t matter if you are removed or not. If you were going to get any gear drops it will go to your mail box minus crests. It’s a major safety net and a reason why no one kicks in M+.

What a jerk! Sorry that happened to you. Far too many people like that in the game. Put him on ignore, and I hope you don’t get matched with a jerk like that again.

For clarification, queuing for Mythic+ is a manual process by searching through the Group Finder option and choosing to sign up for one of the Myuthic+ runs that other players list there. Ignore won’t necessarily prevent you from selecting a group they are part of.

The ignore option will help prevent the LFD/LFR system from grouping you with someone you have on ignore.

Good point. I had forgotten this was a M+, not LFD. So the ignore feature doesn’t hide groups listed by people on your ignore list? Obviously a 3rd party listing a group and inviting both you and the ignored person would be unavoidable. But I would have thought that an ignored player’s listing would be hidden.

#dfmb

Nope. It hides their chat and prevents grouping in LFD/LFR only.

Would say keep a private list of those to avoid

For this would make a suggestion for blizzard to deal with group leaders who do this often. Like people leaving m+ sure they have a habbit of kicking people after the last boss is dead.

Oh well.

Yeah… it would be nice. I mean it can’t see any reason for it other than intentionally trying to ruin another player’s gaming experience.

I know we can’t do this, but it’d be nice if there was a public list. And make them have to spend 15 minutes every time they log in trapped in stocks in the middle of Orgrimmar or Stormwind and players could throw rotten fruit at them. Too much?
