Any other Solo Players out there?

Yeah, I have little desire to do group content these days. I think a LOT of us have gone this way over the years. This proverbial hampster wheel and gear grind isn’t worth the hassle of dealing with rude people.

ya and thats why people go solo in the open world or quit. the community is SO BAD that we cant get new blood even when we have these huge discounts or beg lol. no one wants to deal with the toxic ppl of this game. blizz already making ai’s for dungeons. its time. some people cant make it bearable to play with gonna have to resort to ai lol.

The pug community might be bad.

I wouldn’t know. I never pug.

But the dedicated community is better than it’s ever been. I’m not sure why anyone would want to play wow solo; the game on its own merits isn’t very good.

Playing WoW with people you know and like, though, that’s the whole point of the game. It’s a multi-player game. A social game.

And age has nothing to do with that; I’m 53 and play in a guild with plenty of other older folks.

Agreed. The sad thing is I do some group content from time to time but its always done through LFG and its never harder then M+5. But apparently most people claim “thats not playing the game”. I stick to this level because everyone is the group is always relaxed and chill (Most of the time)

I’ve been playing wow 17 year, and I’m old enough to call you Son  Ive tried every aspect of this game, and other than when I played with my husband I have been a solo player. That’s one of the great things about wow, iyou can be what ever you want, and it’s all perfectly acceptable.

I’m retired now but during most of my time here I worked full time, doing VERY stressful work, and when I came home the best way for me to de-stress was to play wow - solo. I like doing dungeons with PUG’s but that’s about the extent of my interaction with other people. So, welcome to the Solo Club

Premade in the bg maybe.

Most are herding 14 to 39 (119 for wrath WG) cats lol. I’d make the 15th or 40th. when its got that far off the rails…its lemming time. I can run off that cliff too.

Technically group content, yes. It is following the group off a cliff lol. Why I like filling in on premade crews. its then I see quality group content.

At least you were able to talk about non solo players in a rationally manner.

I am not sure the word “most” is right here.

Im on Area52. Enough said?

My advice is to get off that cesspit.

I work 3rd shift. I like it here because even at 3am the server never feels “dead”. Im sure If I was on a prime time it would be a nightmare

Never once needed LFG for world content even at 4am+

I dunno man.

Even on A-52 who is going out of their way to talk to you about your gameplay when/if you are only running 5s and unders?

This feels like one of those Schrodingers Community things. Either the community talks non stop and is server specific…or it doesnt exist anymore and no communities are server specific depending on the complaint a person wants to give.

I just meant A52 is too crowded for my tastes.

Sure, I use it to dump stuff on the AH now that we have cross-realm trading, but to socialize on? Eek.

Tried other servers the felt dead during my playtime. Id probably have to play on an Oceanic one if I wasnt here

Not really.

lol

I guess I just dont know what socializing a person does that is so server specific.

I get not liking crowds. For me, I prefer them. But I get it and not wanting to be on it for that specific reason.

If you say so my man. No clue what you were referring to, but if you’d like to expand on it. Go for it.

How so? I moved quite a few of my toons from Whisperwind over to A52 a few years ago, and have not regretted it once.

I do have to say though, its been pretty dead the last couple months, but nowhere as dead as other realms.

Solo play in MMOs is as old as MMOs. MMOs are not specifically co-op. MMOs are simulated worlds. Just as you have sports teams and logistics drivers in real life, you have group and individual play in a simulated world. An MMO thrives on the diversity of people who will play it. Once your MMO is whittled down to a narrow slice of the customer pool, it’s done as a product.

True. It amazes me to this day that so many do not know the real definition of MMO. Nowhere in that definition does it say grouped play lol.

Except, occasionally, for using LFG (mainly for dungeons) and LFR I’ve always played WoW solo since I started way back in Vanilla.
Group content was always voluntary, not mandatory, or, as they say, “you do you”.
Basically, WoW is your game to play as you like (provided it’s within the rules of WoW).
