76 here… but a lot of you elders are rolling Alliance? Gee, I’m sorry, but I always and ever played, play and will play the worthy HORDE! Outstanding people, fantastic adventure, exhilarating world PvP, lifelong friendships, uplifting laughter, joy and fun! Hope to meet you fellow Hordies on Grobbulus RP-PvP … for the HORDE!
The above warlock has raided with us the past few years and I can honestly say that she keeps us verbally on our toes and grammatically correct. Love her to the moon and back!
I hope I’m still able to enjoy games like this as a septuagenarian.
Here’s a great guild for older players you might wish to check out.
Link: Horde Tough
I’m only 71, but I’ve played since week 3 of the game (November 2004).
My best guild was called Geriatric Gentlemen. It had no age rules, and had females in it too. I was in it for 3+ years, then it fell apart.
Born in 1940, started playing WOW in Apr 2005 , my wife joined me playing it in July 2005, and we have been playing it continuously together since. We are both looking fwd to see how authentic classic is and whether the crafting professions will resume a critical and much appreciated role. Leveling and acquiring gold was hard time consuming work. Our Grandkids still thinks its great we still play and enjoy it – whooah!
Even back in the beginning, I didn’t want to miss the WHOLE story. So as soon as it was possible, I rolled a Horde character as well. Back then, “some” of the storyline was the same for both factions, but there were a tonne of quests that were Horde-side that didn’t have a duplicate for the Alliance.
I’m thinking Tauren shaman this time around …
When i first started WoWx it was alliance. I was afraid of Horde because a rl friend trashed talked them so badly. It took me a year to try Horde and glad i did! Now with Classic, im doing both sides and putting a lot of hard work into both!
And for anyone looking for an older folks guild go on over to the wow classic guild forum and look for a post by Lillybloom called Genx, Boomers and Beyond!
I guess I’m still a young buck in my 30’s. But I’m very happy for you OP, and to all the seasoned gamers that get to take a step back in time. I hope to meet some of you there! +1
Exactly. Watching TV and even some reading are largely passive activities – you’re just taking in what someone else is doing. Playing games requires a higher level of engagement – making the decision about what to do, then getting into gear and executing the action.
For my non-playing friends who think I’m nuts for playing vid games at 67, I ask them: Would you rather watch The Fellowship jump across that ledge in the mine, or would you rather be standing there yourself, deciding on whether to jump?
And they reply, “What Fellowship? What mine?”
I had a wiseguy answer ready to go, but deleted it because it makes me smile you are still getting at it with video games!
Keeps the mind sharp!
Same year my dad was born! Sadly he doesn’t game, though.
Omg do they really ask what Fellowship!!
/cries for humanity
My mother plays and she is 75:)
