Another Wild God bites the dust (Ardenweald Spoilers)

I’ve never played DnD myself, and never really invested into a specific race either. But I did want a general idea for my main. I just liked the concept of the horde as misunderstood monsters, and it really doesn’t feel like there’s any going back from this.

Chronologically speaking, I feel like the only way I could play a character where I could mentally divorce myself from BFA is if I 1) wait until the next horde allied race comes out, 2) hope it’s something that actually appeals to me, and 3) is compatible with the mage class. It seriously dampens my enjoyment, as much as I do genuinely want to have fun with the game.

Cenarius is 100% not on par with Rezan. Rezan was introduced to us 2 years ago.

The equivalent to Cenarius is idk, Gonk, or Bwonsamdi.

And we’re getting Hireek and Shadra back, who have been with the game since forever, on par with Cenarius (albeit Shadra gets continuously screwed over smh)

You can say that and that’s kind of fair. But also don’t forget it was rather clear the prelates needed their own loa in terms of lore. I tried to make it more understandable.

And I’m glad we get those loa back, very glad. I still hate sacrificing a loa for no reason to make Vol’jin into a loa and every question remains.

Realtime: Cenarius was the first wild god ever

Depends I guess.

Lets say Malfurion would have been killed in WoT like it was intended.
Having Cenaruis sacrificing himself for Malfurion to come back empowered as the literal God of Druids. Sure.
Would take that. This is why I ask.

Was just an example.
It was messy and bad but it was the best they could do. The mistakes were made with 4th edition. Like BFA has been done. You can’t make that unhappend. But they basically did that… unhappening things by let other thigs happen that basically negate what happened before.

Or for exampel: They can’t make teldrasill and the dead NEs not have happened. But tehy can let it regrow and ressurect the NEs. Restoring the status quo. It is messy but bette rthan draging the mistakes people hated from BFA further.

At least that is what wizards of teh coast in one of the world largest fantasy worlds have done.

I would have profered NOTHINg of that BFA crap would have had happened at all… but this is impossible unfortunately.

I mean, it still beats losing Ursoc and getting no one back.

I disagree.

It’s more or les the same for me. We lose the loa. Vol’jin wouldn’t have been lost. Sure he would be dead and lost in that sense. But he could have showed up here and there as a ghost like Sen’jin did from time to time.

But I get your point. I don’t really get why they didn’t want to save Ursoc.

Well, I’m somewhat disappointed that Rezan does bite it. Not surprised, but disappointed. Rezan’s fate was pretty easy to guess with what knowledge we did have, especially with Bwonsamdi keeping the spot of Loa of Kings in Shadows Rising.

That being said, this isn’t the worst way to do it. Rezan wasn’t able to make it out and chose to empower one of the species that his kind had cherished over the years. If he had the strength, which is probably still in Dazar or something, we probably would have been following HIM out of the Maw.

Question is, what does Rezan’s essence make Vol’jin a Loa of? We never knew what Rezan was prior to being the Loa of Kings.

May your teachings guide me Rezan. I am the predator, the Jailer my prey.

Malorne was later introduced in Reality, the first introduced real “wild god” is cenarius, since the early days of wc3

Stop liking Hakkar? Afraid not.

Imagine her face after being back and see the Horde basically being Legion 2.0 …
Sadly not going to happen… mhmf.

I allways found it weired that he shares the name with Hakkar the Hound master , the first demon to ever step onto Azeroth summoned by Xavious.

Ashamane is part of the batch where you get both Hir’eek and Shadra back.

This is really weird, yes.

I think it be should be noted that Loa is a pretty wide reaching term. It applies to anything that the Trolls define as a deity, and can range the spectrum from Wild Gods, Old Gods Spawn like G’huun, and even select powerful Troll spirits. Thus, Rezan would probably be classified in the Wild God spectrum; even if he is of a different make and model as the traditional NE aligned ones.

As a weird question … Vol’jin is becoming a Loa infused with the once T-Rex Loa of Kings. Even the Winter Queen doesn’t really know what form he’ll take when he emerges from that pod. People are making the pretty bold assumption that the guy is gonna look like a regular old troll when he goes Full Loa. He might not even be a T-Rex … he could be anything tbh.
