Another season, another few months of M+ or die

Dragonflight Season 1 had 36,215,500 keys completed.
Dragonflight Season 1 had 6,670,976 Unique characters.

Yup, as I figured. You continue to dodge as you are unable to back up your argument with even the smallest ounce of data.

M+ is the reason I don’t raid anymore or really invest a bunch of time into the game anymore. I don’t think it’s a good game mode to play without a preset group. Too many barriers to entry for something so darn lucrative, and I’ve never really enjoyed rush gameplay.

But I’m happy it exists and broke my addiction to this game. Now I just log in casually here and there and I replaced WoW end game nights with D&D, which is far more fun.

But you still didn’t answer the question here.

I love it how players unironically make statements like this and fail to realize that maybe that’s a massive problem with the game lol. If all you have to do is M+ then this game really isn’t offering much at all

Why is that a massive problem? WoW has always been an end-game-focused MMO…If you remove the end-game (or the most popular form of it) it makes sense that players would not know what to do in-game.

Honestly, I have no idea how open-world-only players play this game and manage to stay entertained. I have been playing since vanilla and non-end-game content has always been very limited and boring.

Also, I don’t see anyone suggesting alternatives.

Instead, they are attempting to shame people for enjoying m+

Which I think is a super weird thing to do.

I make the statement because I want an answer. What are you going to replace it with that has the level of challenge I enjoy, sure world content sucks right now but to me it’s always sucked so maybe M+'s existence takes development resources away from good world content but I can’t even picture world content I want to play.

This is the point I keep trying to get through to these M+ defenders. The developers are using this one system in place of creating actual content.

If M+ was as popular as people say it is, why aren’t we getting twice the amount of dungeons per expansion, instead of the 8 at launch and the one mega dungeon mid expansion?

It just feels like Blizzard is relying on M+ to carry the game way too much these days.

I’d love to see WoW pivot into more casual content like housing, world PVP objectives, more story content, more content like Mage Tower. Add a card game into the game like ESO, revisit archeology, redo some of the old dungeons from Vanilla, add boating to the game with some cool fishing objectives, add farming to the game, castle sieges, I could go on.

I wouldn’t really call myself a defender. I just enjoy a challenge and don’t get one anywhere else in this game, so if you’re going to take it away I’d like to know what content would provide that.

For context the mage tower kept my interest for about 8 minutes until I got my xmog.

If there’s genuinely some way to make interesting content that challenges players like me and doesn’t require the organisation of 20 man mythic raiding I’m all ears.

How is running the same dungeons every week for years fun though? Same mechanics, same mobs, same bosses. The rotation changing helps a little. I’d hardly call this content interesting. I see a ton of people burn out on M+ every expansion, because it really is only fun for about 6 months into the expansion.

The fact that they brought old dungeons into the rotation shows that M+ burn out was an issue.

Why bother doing more when they can get away with doing less? People are gladly slamming their faces into the same brick wall multiple times a day. That’s a win for Blizzard with minimal effort.

I mean, I’m glad people have something they enjoy doing. It’s not for me though, and that’s fine.

I agree it was, and still is an issue. But I would prefer it any day to

Competitive content keeps me coming back to WoW. That is why I only subscribe to other MMOs for very short periods. And I’m not even that good at this game.

Cool so I’ll just raid 9 hours a week and call it at that I guess. None of these things interest me and you blaming their lack of existence on Mythic+ seems a little short sighted.

Because there’s a severe lack of other content? lol

I’m not calling for the expulsion of the game mode but there needs to be other things to do than just spam 8 dungeons for a few months

You’re not, others are, and honestly I agree with you. World content sucks, but in my mind it always has so I’ve no idea how to remedy or improve that so it’s not really a discussion where my input is valued.

If what rakia suggests were to be done, I’d be losing an infinitely scaling game mode that does end up but challenging and rewarding me in exchange for a bunch of stuff I have no interest in and a couple scenarios that will take me maybe 30 minutes if they’re tuned anywhere like the mage tower was in BFA / SL.

100% I’ve seen him complaining about M+ loot / gearing within the last 24 hours. Raid is still not good enough. I guess it makes sense if you’re like Brewa and aren’t capable of timing +20s, but insist on mythic raiding.

Oh, guess I missed that.

:man_shrugging:

Heroic raid’s only advantage is tier piece acquisition and a couple of trinkets if your class’s raid trinkets are even good. Other than that you can’t get aspects crests there for crafting 447s, you still need to do dungeons to cap wyrm crests, your stat choices on most items are terrible because there’s 1-2 pieces for each slot maximum, and you can only do it once a week.

So for the time being, while the majority of raiders are either not touching mythic or barely past the first 1-2 bosses, Mythic+ is the vastly superior gearing method besides tier.

You guys get gear at the end of a mythic plus? Lol

Kill this greater rift timer race
Let each boss drop loot.
Bring back dungeon lock outs.

Or just kill it all together and go back to the tried and true normal->heroic->mythic->raid.
