I didn’t know how else to put it but yeah, I kinda share that sentiment. I was actually bummed when they took the character and kinda used them in compromising situations just to fetishize it even further. I’m not getting into specifics but it kinda felt dehumanizing.

I love anime but a lot of it is trash aimed at people who want it for… weird purposes.
I remember watching a cute anime about a guy who adopts a little demon girl. Cute and wholesome til the end. I wanted more so I looked up the manga. Turns out this guy MARRIES HIS ADOPTED DAUGHTER THAT HE RAISED SINCE SHE WAS AN INFANT. I stopped watching anime for awhile after that.

I legit for the longest time thought it being produced by Tarantino using some sort of stage name pseudonym for some of the obvious camera angles.
What is and isn’t anime is part of a ongoing war between Puritans and well…everyone else.
The Puritans say iits only animation made in Japan, however when the source is a Manwa (comic from South Korea) and the show is made in Japan they still insist its a Manwa and not anime.
However in Japan ALL Animation no matte where it comes from is anime. All the american cartoons are called anime in Japan.

As a foodie, I second Delicious in Dungeon.
And Golden Kamuy just for their descriptions of food. Actually ended up going all the way to Hokkaido a few years back just to try a couple Ainu restaurants after watching it because it made the food look so enticing.
Also isekai is gross. Stupid power trip fantasy garbage.

I’m iffy on bugs too. Tried roasted crickets at some culinary specialty place years ago (also in Japan) and the texture bothered me so much it haunted me for the whole week.
I’d still try candy-ish jewelry bugs though…
lol i was gonna mention that scene. Yeah even the folks working on the show were stunned that they got away with that joke

Yeah I’m at least glad seafood is fine for me. Since hey cmon shrimp and lobster are just water bugs at the end of the day.
Altho some places serve shrimp still with the legs and I just do not vibe with that. I’ll still eat it because I don’t wanna waste it. But the idea of the little legs getting between my teeth? Not into it lol

Not really food-related compared to some shows, but Muteki Kanban Musume (The Unbeatable Signboard Girl) also known as “Ramen Fighter Miki” is really funny imo.
I always peel the shell and legs so shrimp are fine, even served whole. The crickets were a level of gross beyond most stuff I’ve eaten though, just because of the texture. Especially because they were served with the legs. shudder
