I mean they are good motivators for anything about war and politics. Game of Thrones for example
I will argue with you that Baine Thrall and Jaina have had worse/comparable struggles and they don’t whine this much.
I have a narrow view on it? True
You can have Love stories without sex stuff
when it comes to varian, i think they killed him too soon. Killing him woulda boosted anduin too but they needed that seed to grow first imo
I think it’s ok to voice your opinion in a calm manner, which i am doing
Imagine caring this much about how “manly” some video pixels are.
Embody those characteristics in your own life if it’s that important to you. Whining about it online is just an awful look, tho.
Wow is almost 20 years old now. That is a long time. Each era/generation has different values and ideas. You can see this reflected in the differences between what people thought was proper in a hero like John Wyne during the 1930s-1950s. And the hero in Kevin Costner Dances with Wolves in the 1990s. New generations bring to the table new ideologies and sentiment which reflect what is the narrative in the real world At the time of filming. Same goes for video games.
So over the years. Wow’s writing and characters portrayal have changed somewhat to reflect this.
Emotional is ok as long as its the right kind of emotional. Like in the latest god of war, kratos is a walking piece of testosterone but has a fathers love which is also masculine and heroic. I am not saying that all emotion makes you look weak but the way anduin is, is just whiny lol
I am not whining, i am just having a discussion about it
I agree. The Looks does not match his character at all.
you are correct
Anduin has the potential to be a great character, have him man up and slaughter the Nerubeans in the next xpac, he has SHALAMAYNE for crying out loud, the swords whole purpose was to keep Varians (lo’gosh) rage in check, and after SL his papa is clearly AT LEAST imprinted on the sword if not inside it altogether. Give Anduin some of his fathers strength and rage and let him vent his emotions by slaughtering the underground bug people. (also who wouldnt want to see Anduin the Shadow Fury Paladin)
I can get down with that
I am not complaining, I am discussing
“Secondly, it’s a pretty common hero trope to have golden boys grow despondent and go through dark times to add depth to the character.”
True but with good nuance
he’s not whining, he’s just having a discussion about it
lol i see what you did there
Maybe I am remembering the cinematic wrong but he didn’t actually complain about anything. He just told Thrall, as a matter of fact, he is not that boy anymore, and that he no longer has a connection to the light.
i hoped you would i don’t really agree with your premise here but i thought you’d get a little chuckle out of that. have a great day!
