There are 2 towns in the Barrens made up of the Tauren who Baine exiled for wanting to defend their families. Spearhead and Vendetta Point. The NPCs there all talk about it. Go chat with them to learn more!

It’s also mentioned in TOW:

I don’t feel like logging in right now but I clicked on all the pages and texts of the NPCs in that town and none of them mention being exiled. They mentioned wanting revenge and the massacre but not Baine exiling them.
No lmao. Don’t you know if you don’t love Sylvanas or hate Baine that means you are just a troll bait thread poster? But us, the kind, noble, hatred posters of Baine scouring for out of context quotes and exaggerations to defame him, and cursing the name of Golden, are not trolls in the slightest? But legitimate serious posters looking for engaging discussion?
It appears you are correct. Baine exiling any Tauren who wanted to defend their families was a creation of Golden in Tides of War, along with Baine’s unending sexual harassment of boy kings.
Ah, I see Baine was stalking him even earlier than that. It started in Golden’s Shattering, the pre-Cata book. Thanks for the correction to when Baine’s creepy obsession that led him to mailing parts of himself to children started.
If Blizz wants Baine to be a popular warchief, they have an uphill battle. They have failed to portray Baine in a way that will be positively received by the Horde community for ages. He just doesn’t fit the Horde’s aesthetic as a faction. He much more closely resembles the Alliance’s aesthetic, and that’s a problem.
He needs to very unambiguously put the needs of the Horde above the Alliance. He can pursue peaceful relations with the Alliance, but he needs to be firm and decisive. Thus far, he’s been vacillating and obsequious. He stood by when Garrosh was mucking about, and he stood by for most of BfA.
Baine finally works up the balls to do something, and it’s literal treason with a small band of others instead of rallying other Horde factions to his cause and pressing for reform (actual leadership).
Blizzard seems to think that they dont need to actually show the internal structure or the people of any nation unless it’s supposed to be a “twagedy” failing to realise…
By not making the nation a nation, they ruin the structure of their setting. The more you have people asking questions such as “Where do they get their Food?” “Why do they follow this person?” or most terrifyingly of all “How does it work?” you are starting to have you setting poked apart
I main Alliance because I love me some space goats and I don’t like the “Let’s put spikes on top of those spikes!” look most of the Horde areas have going on.
I also love the Tauren, Darkspear, High Mountain, Blood Elves and now the Zandalari.
To be fair, this simply states that “Tribal elders” tried to hold him in check. I don’t know how Baine would be counted given he’s chieftain, but ToW attributes the exile of those who wanted vengeance to him.
Yeah, even Sylvanas has the benefit of not being spineless at this point who’d want a pacifist incapable of even saving his own people to lead them?
Mmm, Sylvanas didn’t- if I remember correctly during the Silverpine offensive she directly disobeyed Garrosh’s orders by attacking Gilneas given that she was being harrassed anyway-- but my point remains that she stood smug-like while Garrosh threatened her existence. Ironically this was one of the first times I lol’ed in regard to dialogue because it goes like this.
“What difference between you and the Lich King is there?”
“Isn’t it obvious Warchief, I serve the Horde.”
dramatic pause on Garrosh’s behalf as he is absolutely taken aback by what she just said
