Just because you’ve never experience something, and can’t quite wrap your head around it, doesn’t mean it’s not a real thing.
That would be like if I said that deeply held religious beliefs aren’t real, they’re just made up excuses for racist conservatives to keep being racist conservatives. Just because I have never held religious beliefs, and do not understand what that would even be like, doesn’t mean that people don’t hold those beliefs (nor does it mean that the goal is to be racist).
