so what? how one person is doing is completely irrelevant to how another person is doing.
you’re awfully critical of these young athletes, all the while probably having accomplished absolutely nothing in your life that even comes close to them.
I can tell you’ve never had to do anything under heavy pressure. It’s not about winning or losing, it’s about not being so overwhelmed that you botch something that could get you landed with life-threatening injuries.
What amuses me is the lack of perspective behind the gold medal pissing contest. People who think it matters for some reason as a measure of the “greatness” between countries. It’s a cold war mindset.
Meanwhile, Brazil is jumping for joy because they had a gymnast win a medal for their first time ever for their country.
Yeah, they do that on those talent shows too, to garner sympathy for particular individuals to sway opinions. I don’t care.
The only question I have in all of this is that, If this person was so fragile mentally why did she go all the way to the Olympics to decide that she couldn’t participate? Why not forfeit the spot before departure to give someone else a shot?
Seems these athletes need mental evaluations as a qualifier.
Fair enough. I don’t know the particulars as I stated previously I haven’t been watching.
There’s enough stuff going on in the world far worse than someone having a meltdown at the Olympics I am not interested in watching a bunch of entitled brats cry about personal issues.
