Its funny IRL I am extremely organized,
You could literally eat off my floors in my truck… and every thing has its place and I know where everything’s at.
But in this game somehow, I need an intervention on hoarding
No, I don’t horde things either. General rule is if it’s something that I can put up on the AH, I hold on to it until the next time I sale things off and if it doesn’t sale, I vendor trash it.
Haha, I love saving goofy pick pocket items like the frayed knot, empty wallets, and such. A lot of the grey items I hold onto for a while like the gold tooth, the homemade wine, unlucky rocks etc. I think the subtle jokes put in by junk item designers are clever.
I do a clean up at the beginning of each expansion, can’t stand having a lot of stuff. But some stuff I will always keep even though they have no value to gameplay, but to me they do.
I’m with you, dude. I don’t hoard things IRL or in game.
I have two characters with close to a full bank and one is my bank alt that has stuff like rep tokens, pet battle stones, my boa guild tabard, etc. You know, things worth keeping. The other is my main. I keep some things for nostalgia that are unique and can’t go into void storage and some stuff that’s relevant to the xpac but as soon as the xpac is done, and I’m determined I don’t need it, that junk gets deleted or sold.
The rest of my characters have clean bags and bank.
I fall somewhere in between. In my bank, I have a select few sentimental items, a few objects from older achievements or collections I’m working on, old legendaries and currencies, and anything pertaining to the current expansion (gear, etc). On every toon I have quite a bit of available bank space. In my backpacks, I keep consumables, quest items and off spec gear (usually just weapons and trinkets). And that’s about it. I stay fairly organized.
To add to that idea, I would say a journal of sorts that cover all the Rare NPC’s we have found. Such as what they look like, their location, and a list of what they drop. Though we only see what items they drop after they drop it for us, the rest are blacked out until then.
Something to give more reason to find Rare NPC’s again, as I always liked seeing the Silver Dragon Border around an NPC and wondered perhaps what lore do they have within the world.
I got into the habit before transmoging was a thing, and unfortunately never kicked it.
Luckily for me, the past few expansions haven’t had as many items that I felt I just had to keep.
Then there are items like ore, herbs, etc. I have a compulsive need to have as much as possible on hand, just in case I have a sudden desire to make a piece of armor for whatever reason.
The only things I have in my bank are past expansion legendaries, tier sets, and reusable flasks/runes. Not because I think I’ll ever need them, but it’s a nice little collection of the past. I’ll also hold onto a few random odds and ends but during each expansion prepatch I’ll go through and clean it out. As far as the reagent bag, I completely empty that out each expansion prepatch as well.
i play that way… always have around 100 slots open at the start of my day and usually end around the same… depends if i get a piece of gear for my spec/off spec
I toss everything I can or sell everything I can from previous expacs. The things I keep either cannot be deleted or are from the vanilla WoW era like my ony key just because it is not something you can get anymore in retail.
I’d bet money that’s actually the least used feature that blizz ever implemented in the game. I think I may have exactly one thing in void storage, and I can’t even remember what it is.
Mass Effect has exactly this - every single thing you encounter has a diary with lore, background, information etc and its a lot of fun to sit and read through it all.
Even if they just invent some nonsense for all the rares around Zaralek it would take a single person only one or two days to make up some interesting information about the mobs that would make them feel like a part of the world instead of just a random thing thats there.
if its not useful to me I generally just get rid of it don’t care to keep any items I wish they would let me delete the legion artifacts and heart of azeroth.
