Am I the only one who actually likes the Dracthyr race?

Yup not different. But maybe if we could choose more colors for their preset armors. I feel its very limited right now. Id like some more pink

I’ll never say no to more customizations.

I feel like it was a huge miss not to institute hex codes for our colors so that we can create our own palette.

I personally want unlockable visage/armor like how dragonriding stuff works.

It would be badass to get a void Dracthyr skin for killing sark, or a fyrakk visage for that kill.

I just don’t like Scalies, and if I did, I’d go over to Skyrim and Mod Argonians.

Honestly, my main gripes about Evoker as it stands are:

  1. My Dracthyr transmog isn’t separate from my Visage transmog, which makes putting together transmog for both kinda painful if I want to actually use the Dracthyr barber shop armors.
  2. More a personal wish thing than anything else, but I’d love to be able to remain in Visage form when I’m not using the spells that require it, akin to Demon Hunters’ Eye Beam.

Otherwise, I’m happy with it and like my Evoker.

I like them so far, getting used to the proportions, wish that visage had more options though, a lot more even. All the face options look the same, character customization is one of the best things about the game, they shouldn’t cheap out there.

Im pretty sure a large portion of the community is fine with the race. You’ll rarely see compliments in the forums because those people would much rather play and enjoy the game.

In the forums, complaints are much more common because those folks need an outlet for their frustration/issues.

I’ve gotten used to it, but could use a little extra to it. Its hard to describe, its like the neck length vs shoulder width ratio is slightly off. Arms slightly too long. Legs a little too lanky.

Personally, if we could an appearance similar to Phase 3 Sarkareth, I’d be happy as a clam.

Month long necro but a place to put my opinion regardless; I think the race really suffers without proper transmog. Dracthyr are honestly a really cool concept, being elite soldiers created by Neltharion to be a mix of both mortal adaptability and raw dragon power, with evokers being the elite of the elite: dracthyr that have mastered the inherent draconic power within them.

This being said, their actual customization is a bit… Lacking imo. Don’t get me wrong, they have a TON of barbershop options, far more than any other race in the game, but I feel like the cost is too great. Transmog is a primary motivator for a lot of people, myself included, to clear content in the game. The dracthyr look cool, however there is no visual milestone to my character when not in visage form; nothing to visibly see how powerful/developed my character is like other characters have.

If races like zandalari, kul Tiran, and worgen can have very differing frames to apply mog to, why can’t dracthyr? The dragon form itself is very cool to look at, but it only does so much. Because knowing blizzard, if there’s no plans to actively work on getting mog working in dragon form, you’re telling me my dracthyr is going to look the exact same, bar shoulders and belt, literally forever? At least until they add more barber stuff 8 years down the road?

That’s just super lame to me. We don’t even get separate transmog between visage and dragon form, which causes this weird issue on its own where you’re trying to find something that matches both your actual mog and the barbershop armors, but it never fits just right and it’s always slightly off.

As for other classes finally coming to the race, they’ve said absolutely nothing in regards to transmog on dragon form and only that you can stay in visage permanently.

…yay? Like, why even play the dragon race if you aren’t going to be a dragon??? I don’t play the race/class to be a human with horns, if I had full transmog in dracthyr form I would never even use my visage.

This is seriously something that needs to be looked into imo, because it just gives off vibes that they really didn’t intend people to main this class and instead it’s just an alt to mess around with, because when you main it and it becomes the character you see the most of, it’s quite jarring how little customization you get compared to every other race.

I’ve been playing my Evoker quite a bit and I must say it’s growing on me.

The one thing I dislike about the model is how narrow the head is when you look at them straight on. I think it should be much wider, especially when you use the bulky body type.

It would’ve been nice to get different face options to sort of represent the different types of dragons. Like a really strong jaw reminiscent of Deathwing, or that OG bent jawline like Kelecgos used to have in BC, or a beard option like Nozdormu. There’s still a LOT of potential with them. If Blizz wants to take the time of course

The animations are good, and they’re quite polished, but yeah. Having a comically tiny head is not doing them any favors. If you wear the hood it helps. Gives you a silhouette of having a wider head at least lol

I think if they had a glyph to allow them to stay in human form always i personally would expect more people to play in the human form.

I love my Dracthyr in Dracthyr form. I usually keep him that way 90% of the time. I switch when running errands in Stormwind City so he can slink through the crowds quietly.

Like most of evoker players. I wished they fixed transmog. More visage form races would be great too.
Other than that id prefer a tank spec over aug. Cant say the gameplay of aug is fun compared to dev, and if you want to group as dps ppl tend to prefer aug in their group. Soar is great except for the fact you quit fly mode upon touching ground.

Dev is fun, preserv is fun. Glide is great. Mobility is great.

I like dracthyr but theres room for improvement

Unless they’re doing like 15+ or higher, they definitely don’t.

If they do, they intentionally want the key to be slow and have no idea what they’re talking about.

My main and really perhaps only issue is the lack of transmog in dragon form.

They said when they open them to more classes they’ll be able to stay in visage.
Like, I play a dragon race to be a dragon lol. Not some elf/human reskin. This would be completely mitigated by full transmog in dragon form.

I have no idea why they don’t give them full transmog?? If worgen and tauren can wear transmog, why can’t dracthyr??? I mean dracthyr look more humanoid than do tauren, so whats the problem???

I just don’t understand.

They were in a rush and couldn’t do all that. But they won’t actually add it until 14.0 when they need to use it to help market that expansion.

Piecemeal customization releases helps to make sure that every expansion has a reason for people to buy race changes. New race, Dracthyr Armor, Humans getting three hair colors , etc.

Just some possibilities. Not blaming the devs, just think it’s marketing and business crap that all triple A games have to deal with now. Blizz should have stayed small.

One complaint I have, is why can’t Demon Hunters use to soar around like Dracthyr can?

The in-setting reason’s like “tattered wings” or “Illidaddy sucked down wild fel-roids, and isn’t the same thing as a vanilla DH now.”

The real-world reason was something like the animation’d look scuffed.

That said? My partner’s a DH main, so I stan the class. Give 'em soar, what would it break? Nothing!

Their wings are not as functional. I don’t know I got nothing. Give us double jump and you can have soar… I kid.

I wouldn’t use that to describe most feedback about Dracthyr. There was just a misaligned expectation of what they would look like vs. what we got for some.

What a lot of folks were expecting was the strong beefy dragonkind types. Like the Chromatic Dragonkin in Hearthstone.

Instead, we kinda got something that was a bit of a watered down combo of something Disney would make and some anime tailored around making attractive reptile humans for those who are into it. And while I got used to it, it was a bit cringe IMHO.

To be fair they can’t really build the playable “dragons” like an actual Drake or whatever.
Even Drakonids would be huge, otherwise of they were player sized they’d look dumb too.

Seems like this is the best way to go, they just need to fix the running animation, our Mog options and it’d fine, IMO of course.

I don’t mind the looks of my Dracthyr and I love the class so it works for me.
