I love almost everything about them but being a dragon while riding a dragon is not it

I enjoy a lot of aspects of the Dracthyr, and have been having fun so far.
I’d say three improvements I’d really like to see are options for thicker and more muscular Dracthyr bodies, the ability to do “normal flying” like a regular flying mount, and a tank spec for the Evoker (or giving the Dracthyr more access to classes so they can be a tank, like Warrior).

I love the Dracthyr model, personally. I love how androgynous they are. Their animations are top notch in most respects. What I don’t fully like is their Visage, needs work.
I like the Character Builder more than I like the character in game. It just feels different somehow. I got all excited building my character, thought it looked awesome, then hit “start game” and was like… well that’s disappointing.
I hate the Visage form, I think it looks dumb no matter what you do to it, even in the character creation screen.
I am starting to really despise the empowered abilities, because they are constantly locking out my actionbars without actually locking them out. Not casting when they’re supposed to be. Going on cooldown without showing that they’re on cooldown. Casting without showing any animation (which when paired with the on cd thing is REALLY annoying because you have no idea that it actually cast, given than it often doesn’t, but you can’t cast it again).
There’s so many problems with empowered abilities, that it feels like i’m playing Alpha.
The spec is also very RNG. I’ve played a lot of DH and Shaman where RNG is their base toolkit. You can sometimes 1 shot something, and other times spend a minute tickling it.
Dracthyr feels the same. I sometimes get a 105k Flame hit, but more often than not my hits are 20k or less. They are slowly starting to creep up, but the randomness of my damage output is frustrating.
AoE is good, but survivability is pretty bad, and when you rely somewhat on your empowered abilities or long casts and close range for your AoE attacks, it’s sometimes hard, if not impossible to get your casts off without getting kicked, punted, stunned, etc… and basically just dying.
There’s not a lot to be excited about with Dracthyr. The best parts are the fact that we’re a dragon, but that’s countered by the fact that we have to ride a different dragon in order to fly.
There’s a lot to be frustrated by, and sadly I think the player base for Evoker will drop off fairly quickly as people start to feel weak or unable to compete at end-game content etc… especially once m+ and raids come out.
I want them to be good, I feel like they’ve missed the mark. Giving us the full dragon riding abilities as part of our ‘soar’ ability, without a cooldown, and letting us choose our Visage from ANY race would have made it so much more likeable and successful imho.
What to do about empower i’m not sure. It’s a nice idea, and it’s good when it works, but it rarely works properly.

I still have a evoker level 70 but i hate the dragonform. I just use toys to change the appearance in combat. The proportions just make them look bad imo
I love the Dracthyr, although I do really wish they let us choose other races aside from human and blood elf as visages.
They probably might add all of them in the future, idk. Maybe they’re just adding all these different customizations and new hairstyles for each race, who knows. But I really do want more options just because I hate the animations of Human Female.
Oh also the Soar issue on Dragon Isles.

Love my Draktyr, love the gameplay, came to love the looks. Yeah, its still more lizard than dragon, but alas we take what we get.
Agree that it would be amazing to have freedom of choice with visage forms, imo they wouldnt even need to add the detail of customization we have for our current visage forms, just give us the normal other races as option.
Would love for Soar and Hover to work more like druid flight form or at least give us a ground mount hover.
I guess what makes / made me sad the most was them updating the Drakonoid forms for Dragonflight and then making a lizard (without transmog) when we could of had either the bulky two legged Drakonoid (Body Type 1) or the four legged one (Body Type 2) for Draktyr and it would of been the most amazing race ever. But we got a lizard.
Only think I don’t like about them visually is the awkward way they walk. That being said there are a few QoL stuff that I would love myself:

Given the lore and the way they are portrayed in the game…they should be awesome fighters…but they fold like wet noodles. Make them more survivable.

Soar - this is getting fixed in War Within from what I am told but this should have been at release.

I would have liked a few more options for sizes. Lithe is fine but I would have liked a bit more beefier model for mine. Not Drackanoid level but something between what we have now and them would have worked.
I like them, they’re probably gonna be the only race I’ll play for the foreseeable future even.

Same. Though I kinda like the idea of having a worgen visage if that becomes a thing.
Personally i would like to have the Vulpera visage like the Majordomo.
Having a worgen visage is one thing, but a vulpera? That’s just weird. Like a furry gnome.
Honestly I would take either one really. Both would be very satisfying to me.

All I want is to be a dragon pretending be a worgen pretending to be a human dressed as a murloc. Is that so much to ask?

My only wish would be to feel a real difference between male and female dracthyr. Its very androgyne looking to my taste. Other than that i love being drake

I like them but i also want to be able to play as evoker in other races, love the visage form but i cant use it in combat, hope when we get other classes we can do it, it is going to be like have 3 “forms” male/fame and dragon all in 1 character if i get bored to seeing the same type of body. Cool.
