Am I the only one who actually likes the Dracthyr race?

I have seen nothing but complaints and toxicity around the Dracthyr race. I agree that the model isn’t 100% the way I was hoping but the model has really grown on me.

I am a DND player who is glad for a dragonkin playable race similar to the Dragonborn race.

People have been complaining about them being edgey and what not. Are you new to the game? Have you seen Illidan Stormrage? Demon Hunters?

I know people will complain just to complain about something and Blizzard is a million dollar company that maybe should put some extra time into allowing Dracthyr to wear more armor. Or having more model options for different builds and sizes outside of the 4 we got.

But could we all just chill out a bit? It’s not that bad and I’ve been having a ton of fun both gameplay and role play wise with the race so far.

Happy Dragonflight everyone!

I’ve always wanted to have a dragon race. I like a lot of what they’ve so far, i just think there are a few things they still need to include.

I hate that my Dracthyr displays the shoulder and belt. It looks incredibly silly and out of place. We need a separate transmog for Dracthyr form or no armor outside of character creation armor.

Soar is such a lackluster ability. Either remove its cooldown or let us fly in our Dracthyr form (big fail that they do not have this on release).

I love their lore and I was very excited for them. The dragon aspects are my favorite part of the WoW lore. I cannot express how frustrating it is to not be able to property fly in my Dracthyr form, it completely breaks my immersion.

I like them they do have a use inside the game but not in dungeons nor raids it more an outdoor content char… im using my for the minning and herb collecting and outdoor content.

I like them.

I am disappointed that i can’t be an actual dragon and fly without soar or a mount.

I don’t like the Visages.

I’m not particularly keen on the Evoker class, but that may change with gearing.

They could have done way better, but the models and customizations are nice. Way better than other races.

Making noise is how you get things changed in blizzard land. Blizz is already notoriously stubborn in their designs so you really need to be loud for a long time before they finally respond. Just being quiet and not complaining and being patient hoping they’ll do it on their own just gets you nothing but disappointment. This is just reality based on years of precedent.

All people want are options. Options for bigger heads, options to transmog forms separately, etc. If you like it as is, good for you. Others getting more options won’t harm you, so why bother pushing against it?

I choose to see the Dracthyr as they are now as a solid base with lots of room to grow. Yes, they should be able to fly, but so should Demon Hunters. I am hoping that in the future they get the ability to fly. Maybe they should get a shape change to a travel form like druids or just have their soar ability evolve into a full flight ability when regular flying becomes unlocked for their map.

As for their combat abilities, I find they have plenty of room for improvement. As they are mid-range casters with mail armor and scales, and can use all one-handed weapons, they should have SOME melee-based skills besides Auto attack.

That being said, I have only played my Evoker to get him up to 60 and to get enough motes (or whatever they are called) to gear up to iLvl 252 right after the pre-patch launched on the 15th. I am going to give it the benefit of the doubt and try leveling it to 70 in the Dragon Isles. Here’s to hoping that it’s more interesting than the short time I have played already.

I like them enough that I intend to main a preservation evoker. I am abit sore about a number of bad design choices, most of which should have been easy layups.

I like them too and am considering maining one for DF.

People always complain when a new class and/or race is introduced. Back in the day there were a LOT of complaints about Death Knights when they came out, then it was even worse with Pandaren (and MOP in general, used to be a lot of people saying it was just Blizz ripping off Kung Fu Panda but now it’s generally regarded as one of the best expansions).

Eventually people will find something new to dislike and move on.

No! I love my cute lizard and my pretty little wood-elf like visage.

Anti-new thing is just an easy target for attention.

Though I do have issues with how they executed some things…
(oddly short range, small head, limited color options for armor, options for visage, while plentiful, feeling too one-note thus not providing a good range of options, having to ride another dragon AS a dragon, paws)

The core of their design did land quite comfortably into the ballpark of what I typically enjoy.
(caster, mobile, lithe and leggy, a non human appearance that isn’t a slave to 1:1 forms of human gender expression, 3d apparel )

I like it a lot, and don’t understand why so many expected a massive hulking body builder caster class. Drakthyr zip and dash around quickly, they are lithe and agile feeling. Arnold Schwarzenegger builds don’t come to mind

While i agree, until it is done I just switch out equipment for my visage. I don’t like using it as much and figure it is weaker because it doesn’t have scales . I never use it in combat anyway.

Im loving Dracthyr

Daemon hunters were a pizza cutter. All edge no point. It was funny though having their npcs ask my death knight what she’s sacrificed.

I do love my dracthyr. She looks very cool and the evoker class is a lot of fun to play. I do have my issue with soar v. flying, and I’d love to see more visage forms available to us, but those are minor. First few hours on the Isles really cemented my love for them, class, physical design, general goofball feel and all.

I absolutely love the npcs, despite being these badass warrior mages, are so curious and innocent about the world and are fascinated and want to learn everything. Really makes the personable for me and feel like a true new part of the world. I never really got that feel with pandas, or most of the other races really outside of intro quests and the few that had a zone for them like most of the BfA allies.

Really I think if they allowed Dracthyr to fly independently of other mounts and fixed the transmog restrictions between dragon and visage, it would have been a slam dunk. Pretty obvious and simple things.

Blizzard being Blizzard I guess.

I like the race even if I would have preferred Naga. Naga just looks so much more monstrous then the Spyro/Dragontales draconians we ended up getting.

Who called Dracthyr edgy? They’re like the polar opposite of edgy.

I just accept it for what it is and I am liking it. Looks fine to me.

I’ve been waiting for a dragonkin race with wings for a long time, ever since getting the illusion items in EverQuest 2 that turned you into a Droag. Absolutely love dracthyr. Only thing I really have critique wise is the racial flight ability feels bad to use as it has such a long cool down when not in the Dragon Isles.
