Allied Races still locked is mind boggling

50% of the players left because of allied race requirements? I saw somewhere else that 50% left over flying. There are also posts claiming 50% or more left because of RNG.

Something tells me 100% of these numbers are imaginary.

I was talking about Allied Races that are actually new. Not reskins.

Not to mention Zandalari (which proves to be the most anticipated AR) was slated for unlocking at release. Funny how it got pushed back, aye? $$$$

Well then, those people were literally dumb for not knowing how things work before buying in.

Going through the content once to unlock extra content is not an onerous burden.

Allied Races =/= Races

OP I recommend you learn what the differences are. You lack knowledge of it. There are reasons why they are the way they are. They will NOT change it. If I had to earn them then so do you. You shouldn’t get a freebie. If I couldn’t. Not fair to those who did the work. /shrugs/

And where was that advertised? Allied Races are just that… allied races.

No, it was because Kul’tirans were not ready yet. It would not be wise of Blizzard to release the new Zandalari race, which have been in the game since MoP, while only providing the Alliance with Dark Iron Dwarves.

Plus, it makes better sense story wise to have Talanji ascend to the throne as Queen of Zandalar before they jon the Horde.

It’s actually not. The only way this game survives is by bringing in people. The only way that happens is by creating a product that people want to play. History has shown us that, like in BC, making races available when the expansion is launched generates interest and people log in or create accounts.

Creating barriers for classes and races, the vehicle by which everyone experiences Azeroth, is short sighted and exclusive. It hurts the community and ultimately hurts everyone.

The more new accounts and subs WoW brings in, the less people get fired.

NOTE: This is not to say that the gear should be easy to get.

If you can’t see the difference between a Kul’Tiran Human and a regular Human, I don’t know what to tell you.

The only other unique Allied Race is Nightborne. All others are the EXACT same things (that you could actually HAVE with a third party program) as their race. Dark Iron Dwarves aren’t unique AT ALL. Same animations, same everything except skin color. lel

They’re reskinned Night Elves.

Except people have been wanting to play as one for 14 years. As Mag’har Orcs for 12.

I really don’t mind having to unlock exalted with them. However the way you have to do it by grinding old emissaries and World Quests just seems very un-RPG. Seems like there should be some sort of long involved questline you can do that involves actual story.

I mean they have the short little unlock questline at the end but really I mean come on, that’s barely a taste.

Nightborne look nothing like Night Elves. They’re completely unique as far as an Allied Race goes, and that’s how it should be.

A Mag’Har Orc is literlally an Orc with a different skin color - Where’s the difference? Brown skin? Cool. Most have been doing it for years with TMorph.

They’re literally mutated Night Elves. Did you not play attention to the story? I mean Tyrande only mentions 2-3 times she was born in Suramar.

And people who actually played Burning Crusade wanted them as an option since they first reached Nagrand.

The Troll racial is going to be op, they didn’t want it for the mythic race.

I unlocked the 4 allied races in legion but I’ll admit it’s dumb to now expect players who didn’t to go back and do old content. Like someone else already said in this thread, lift the rep grind and have them just do the quest involved.

Yes, I read. You’re just wrong…

You must be blind as a bat m’dear.

Are you still paying for a sub? If you think there was any development reason to keep them still locked you’re kidding yourself.

Oh I agree 100%

I hope they keep it like that. Was speaking purely from Blizzards point of view.

There has to be some kind of gating or several allied races would overtake their core race counterparts in population, which would be plain weird.
