Allied Races still locked is mind boggling

I really don’t understand and I can’t wrap my head around the insane levels of rep grind needed to unlock the Allied Races. You have literally LOST more than 50% of your player base in the last 5 months and yet the decision to keep Allied races locked behind rep grinds is utterly confusing to me.

In my case, I recently unlocked Mag’har after becoming exalted with Honorbound and now have to get honoured with the 7th legion to play Dark Iron – I mean what the hell is wrong with you guys? How much more in subscription revenue do you need to lose to realize that locking Allied Races behind rep grinds was a terrible and bad business decision and CONTINUES to be a bad decision that has not been reversed.

I know a few people who bought BFA strictly for playing allied races and then literally quit without unlocking them. That’s sad and shameful that when someone paid 50 bucks for a game and then never had a chance to play with the races the game was heavily advertising (falsely btw).

  • Allied Races should have been unlocked from the Start Period - You advertised allied races heavily without telling people about the insane rep grinds.
  • After reaching max level you should have received the Heritage armour
  • For Exalted reputation - perhaps a mount would have kept some people happy.

But yes go ahead and keep them locked while you continue to lose more customers.

I earned my Allied Races, you… actually really shouldn’t have to.

I had all four of the original races unlocked as soon as they came out, I had Mag’har almost as soon as they were available (I screwed myself by not doing the pet battle quests for Honorbound Rep), I have everything in order to get Zandalari, and I’ve recently gone and got Dark Iron Dwarves and the Kul Tiran requirements even though I have zero interest in ever playing Alliance.

So I hope I’ve established well enough that my complaint isn’t coming from a place of laziness.

All that said, the Allied Races being gated is just a horrible idea.

Any system which puts players in a situation where they either:
A.) Do the content on a character they don’t want to play, in order to do it all over again on a character they do want to play
B.) Hand Blizzard money

is a bad system. Period.

I get it. It sucks, but unlocking mag’har/dark iron dwarves has been made ridiculously easy with all the ways to get rep (incursions, island expeditions, and the war campaign gives more rep now… plus WQs, rep tokens from missions). By far the easiest races to unlock imo. By the way, you need to be exalted with 7th legion… not just honored.

With all that being said… I’m really not a fan of keeping all these races locked behind rep.

I have all Allied Races unlocked and i still think that locking them behind reputations is a bad idea. It doesn’t help bringing old players back into the game.
“Cool, i always wanted to play a Ma’ghar, i’m going to resub and play one right now… oh, i cannot, nevermind…”

  1. The reps were clearly stated and should’ve been no surprise.
  2. if you boosted it clearly stated you would forfeit the armor. You had to click yes to boost.
  3. people complained about the mounts in paragon reps forever.

I have no qualms with reskinned subraces being a reward for questing and rep.

I have a serious issue with unique races that are just like our base races being locked behind the same requirements. It sets a bad precedent.

Because they were a crapfest of RNG on top of a crapfest of grind. 10k rep to get a CHANCE at a mount? Bugger off with that, for serious.

But they’re not ready though?

People’s obsession with how pixels in a video game are acquired is what’s mind boggling

Its a point thats as clear as day. Allied Races is timegated so we spend more time artificially playing the product and going towards sub money. Thats all it is and ever will be.

I agree with you there. If you got a second mount… it sold for …1 copper… Talk about a kick…

I think if you got a Paragon box for doing an emissary for a rep you were Exalted with it wouldn’t have been too bad. But 10k rep? That was like 6 rounds of emissaries, which were timegated. It was absurd.

Maybe he thinks wow bills players hourly rather than a monthly fee…

maybe 9.0 but 10.0 for sure this will be gone.

they can only stealth nerf legion so much before people go dude…wtf? Stealth nerf being around 8.1 some bosses got hp boosts (undocumented hp boosts)). they don’t die as fast as they used to.

Still very manageable but not the quicker drops they were when BFA first out.

9.0’s 130 max, 10’s 140…yeah at that point it be idiotic to slow down rep gains on major boss kills with even more HP gains to the bosses.

It was just over a month, when this character did it, starting on Pre-Order day Jan 30, after being boosted. So I was boosted on Jan 30, started on Argus (with the unsullied plate/stuff my “main” mailed me), then was exalted to BOTH Argussian and Army of Light by March 6.

That was with no help from my main.

So now it is FASTER, WAY faster in fact.

So:

You are incorrect.

Why do people make up stuff, about things they don’t like? That would be like me saying that it takes way too long to get mythic gear, while I don’t even do mythics.

Tell the TRUTH; You just don’t WANT to have to do the rep thing (which is actually INSANELY easy.)

Uhh, that is even WAY EASIER. Right now, everything and their sister throws 7th Legion rep at you. So your complaint on this is even less valid. I’m trying to figure out if you are being serious, or trying to be ironic?

They advertised mythic gear and stuff, from raids in this expansion.
So I should just be handed mythic gear.

Wait, people paid full price for a game, let Blizz keep the money and stopped playing? This is exactly what they’re hoping for. If only everyone would give companies money for nothing in return.

I finally got around to unlocking the legion allied races, in BfA. It was a stupid design then and it makes even less sense now. Why they’re still locked is beyond me.

Pay your money and keep your mouth shut, wallets. You’re meant to pay us, not demand anything.

I do agree the new Allied Races shouldn’t be tied to reputations. I have grinded for 3 and my biggest complaint is it gets BORING!!! Just like how I have to do Warfront over and over and over and over just to get my full armour set. It’s not fun!!! The Allied Races are also underwhelming, so the reward does not balance off the effort. I was so hyped over the Void Elves when I first got them, but the design and options are blah blah blah, so I spent hours grinding for this? I sure don’t get the void vibe from them. They could have been taller with longer ears just to be different, but they look like recolours of Blood Elves with new hair, and the end result is looking like Baby Night Elves. I think I would have find it cooler if Blizz Made the model bigger with Night Elf ears and made them the Shandralar Highborne sub-race. Nightbornes … don’t even get me started. What we saw on the NPC and the actual models we got are like your parents promising to take you to Red Lobster but ended up in Checkers instead. The Lightforgeds are the only decent ones, though they do feel like they better off as additional options on the existing Draeneis than a separate race. I don’t know I want to like BfA, but it hasn’t been too fun for me. I’m mostly back for functional reasons like collect the Warfront armour sets, or limited edition mounts/pets, and once I achieved those, I’ll stop my sub and wait for things to do to accumulate before coming back again to clear everything in one shot.

Just remove allied races from the game. They’re idiotic.

i was getting one chest for each rep each week , just by playing teh game - they were easy to get .

there are no rep GRINDS anymore --rep just falls from the sky when you actually play the game.
