I am actually against that and knew these AR races would be a slippery slope. A handful is fine but constantly adding new ones was just opening up the flood gates people asking, begging, demanding everything that moves to be the next AR race then raging at or comparing between whatever is actually chosen.
Right, which is why by no means I’m asking for SL right away (or night elf worgen, I assume). I’d be perfectly happy waiting years for it, if I had to. I like discussing ideas though should they ever be considered. If they’re added sooner than later? Awesome. But I’d be happy too if they added in an abundance of other races first.
I personally want Vulpera as well, for example, and Sethrak. I also think Mantid & Saurok would be cool, but I don’t think they have as much of a chance.
Not that it means much, but people were raging and demanding even when it was just the regular new race system.
Not really, if you consider what we did to recruit the void elves and mag’har. The portals to alternate draenor were to have no longer existed at the time of BFA. Yet we found a way to do so. The void elves dabbled in the power of…well the void. That alone should have driven them insane and not render them playable, yet they exist, have free will, and have abilities no one would have expected. To put it simply, nothing is impossible in WoW’s universe.
Wasn’t really a retcon. Before the comic revealed this lore, worgen were unknown creatures. The mages of Dalaran only said that these worgen came from some strange planet. Ur would have had no idea what the emerald dream was. He wasn’t a druid, nor did anyone outside the druids really know of them at this point in time. They wouldn’t know of the dream either.
Not an inflamed sense if a lot more people want to play “just more elves” as you say. It’s the vote of the majority over the few I’m insisting on, not my opinion alone.
Id find his orginal thread but havent the time right now so youll make do, im sure.
The thing is, asking and talking about ideas isn’t raging and demanding. I want to make it clear that I personally would be fine with many other races added first. I want to show support for what I want added, obviously, and of course point out (Due to lore reasons) the one AR I am really, heavily against (lightforged undead). Otherwise, I want anyone to get what they want. There’s no set timeline for me. If I never get the race I want to see added in? I’d be disappointed, but move on.
My counterarguments aren’t to put down other race ideas, or to demand things right away. I just am saying that some do want to see these things added in, there’s lore behind it, and just because they’re elves doesn’t mean they’re the worst thing in the world.
Oh joy, and now youre trying to speak for others, good luck with that “silent majority” thing.
You’re a rare few and having witnessed OP in the since deleted thread, unfortunately all we can do is speam for ourselves.
Such as this thread and discussion, as far as the op operates, is less about discussion and more about shutting down disagreements.
Much like GD in general I suppose.
True, but as seen with this thread, its empowered and given vindication to the demands as its now seen as easier to get the odd offshoot races added in.
The only part of the demands that I care of, frankly, are if folk are choosing to be obtuse to each other.
Otherwise it’s whatever.
True that. I hope we all (well, mostly) get what we want in the end. I like supporting ARs I won’t ever choose to play as well, should they make sense in lore. I’ve seen gnolls pop up from time to time, or Quillboar. A variety would be neat. Oh, Mogu too (while I totally support them, we have to see some friendly non “I wanna kill everyone” people first).
I think the best way we can go about things is point out what we want added and give in depth lore reasons as to why. Along with some model ideas and locations too.
For all intents and purposes, presenting lore is good for discussion. It’s effectively irrelevant to a race’s plausibility where Blizzard is concerned. So, fun to discuss, but I’d argue basically irrelevant to raw show of interest from the players.
Though I think there’s some who would argue even that’s not enough.
So we should have no issue in adding whatever we want.
People have every right to argue whichever they want, which was not what I was saying.
What I was saying is that Blizzard holds all the cards.
High Elves in the Alliance (where they already are) doesn’t involve the Alliance hijacking any Horde races. Learn the difference between Blood Elves and High Elves.
Ok, so we should make a case to them to add what we want. We may not get them immediately, but we’ll get them eventually if we let Blizzard know.
You can make whatever case you’d like. People can argue if they want. Blizzard does whatever they feel like with suggestions and feedback so don’t hold your breath.
Arguments should stay on topic though, or else we’re all just yelling at each other, and no one get’s what they want.
True enough.
you’re really just advocating for new races à la belves/draenei/pandas/etc. they take longer to pump out and very clearly are not what blizzard has in mind at least for the first iteration of allied races. it’s obvious they’re pairing them with old races first, and you trying to make them arbitrarily stop 66% of the way through isn’t fair or realistic, considering they probably know and have already begun working on the next allied races anyway.
hate to break the news to you so publicly, but forums are not an indication of the overall majority. we can see the opinions of the majority based on numbers. velves and nightborne are the two most populous allied races. that’s not an opinion; that’s a fact. you’re deluding yourself if you think san’layn wouldn’t become at least the second most popular allied race.
isn’t there a legion orderhall that involves freeing nelves of their curse? i honestly can’t remember but i feel like someone posted a video of it before. either way, seems like that would make for a good recruitment mission.
here you go
I’m not doing that at all, relax lad.
