Kul tirans while being crappy imo are a new rig completely new looking race so that sorta invalidates your response there.
You missed the point entirely. Kul’tirans are still HUMAN. Zandalari are still TROLLS. They are races we have played since the very begining of WoW. This is what all the allied races are. You said it yourself at one point.
New races, and I mean real new races, would have to be something other then the races we have played. Vulpera being an obvious and practical option. Which is why I hope they aren’t made an allied race, but a new core one, alongside the sethrakk and any other races people want to play.
I get the point you are making yeah I thought you meant exclusivity looks wise too.
People really seem to not read stuff in its entirety as I have, in my other thread, explained that there is a crap ton that Blizzard’s art department could do to distinguish a nelf worgen vs a Gilnean worgen…
Do not underestimate Blizzard’s art team. Keeping a very narrow mind shows a lack of imagination and creativity.
Allow me to quote:
ALSO WITH THAT. I have recently come up with a theory… Now, I will say that there IS NOT MERIT TO THIS WHATSOEVER. This is only a -theory-.
There was a leak before BFA launch where a “mid level” developer outlined what exactly is going on with this expansion. So far, practically everything stated has come into fruition. That does not mean everything said is actually going to happen and is absolutely true. It was a leak that has no credibility at all despite it being correct thusfar.
In this leak, they state that Malfurion will return to the Emerald Dream at some point. What what reason remains uncertain but apparently BIG BAD THINGS HAPPEN. What we -do- know from Legion is that the Emerald Dream still has corruption within it.
With the Night Elf worgen still within the Dream, it is my theory that Malfurion will learn of the corruption spreading, perhaps even affecting the Night Elf worgen. Malfurion has always felt guilty and sadness towards those with the affliction whom rest in the Dream.
Who knows, maybe we will get Night Elf worgen who become tainted by the Emerald Nightmare in which we must cleanse/free. So… if that happens, I can’t help but think that a black furred worgen with glowing red eyes and nightmare tattoos be all around his body would stand out significantly against our Gilnean worgen. AGAIN THIS IS ALL A THEORY…
Even if they are cleansed and not tainted by the Nightmare anymore, see above quote on how the art team can make them look different.
Not 100%
The Ones you play as have Drust (Vrykul) Ancestry.
Actually our allied races thus far are great minus highmountain I’ll give ya that one. The customization of mag orcs is better than any race in the game. Gives ya access to all orc clans whichever you wanna rp you are part of. Nightborne are night elves horde side. That is a great slot for us as we didn’t have that prior. Zandalari trolls are another long asked for race with great rich lore around them. Very nice racials as well. So yeah I think we won out big time on the allied races.
The same kind of thing could be said about the alliance allied race. They are all good except for LF Drainei.
Void elf bring the highly requested blood elf model in the alliance plus they are the most played allied race. DI was considered as the coolest and better allied race before that zandalari became playable. KT human is the only allied race that have been done from nothing with a new model.
Night elf Worgen =/= San-layn not even close, hell I would faction change in a sec to play vampire elves. remember worgen vrs Blood elves? this would be a horrible imbalance.
Well both are haft way two race of their own faction. San-layn are blood elf/undead and Night elf worgen are… night elf and worgen. If you just stop at how they look now of course you only see blood elf and worgen but you can easily make san’layn being more monstrous and night elf worgen prettier than the actual worgen.
I am already dreading alliance getting junker gnomes vrs horde possibly getting a much cooler and vastly more popular vulpera.
oh i see its a other case of ‘’ blizz only give cool thing to the horde!!!’’.
Another option for Night Elf Worgen is that they don’t shape change anymore. They’re permanently Worgen and their Worgen form is more of a high-res version of the old Worgen models instead of similar to the Gilnean Worgen.
Yeah and look how it put blizzard in a delicate position. Not only they had to ridiculously report the release date of the KT and the zandalari because KT asked to much work but they are not even ready. So now people are mad because we got them to late and they are mad because they are glitched as hell. Doubt that blizzard will do it again soon.
This would be like giving druid to human. I would see them doing it for night elf worgen but with canine trait on the ‘‘norma’’ form. This time they could give them the same class option as the normal night elf.
All humans have vrykul ancestry. The reason kul’tirans look different from regular humans is because of the land of kul’tiras itself. Dealing with the drust, and possibly breeding with them. Having to deal with sea monsters, living off a land that demands much of you. Kinda went Darwin’s theory of evolution over there. The humans adapted to the land, and it created a new offshoot. Don’t forget, kul’tirans were originally Gilnean explorers before they were kul’tirans.
Point I was trying to make is that kul’tirans are humans. Not the regular humans we’ve played as all this time, but as humans still. I’m making the point of night elf worgen being the same as the kul’tirans and every other allied race we’ve gotten in this regard. Yes, they are worgen, but they are different type of worgen. Kul’tirans are humans, but are a different type of human. This is what allied races are. Even the san’layn are undead, just a different type of undead. The only real difference is how they came to be this different variant of the races we’ve been playing.
Humans are the Degenerated Offspring of Vrykul, Large Kul’Tirans got blood from non degenerated Vrykul.
Even so, they are humans still, not really a new race. Hence why they are an allied race, and why night worgen and san’layn are practical options for the AR roster.
All humans have vrykul ancestry. The reason kul’tirans look different from regular humans is because of the land of kul’tiras itself.
It’s because they rebred with Vrykul after their becoming smaller and becoming humans.
So there is a more recent link to the Vrykul after having descended from them. It’d kinda be like a wolfdog.
Dogs being descended from wolves, but you can breed one back with a wolf to get a hybrid of the two.
Yeah they’re essentially half-giants. I’m fully expecting the animation rig to be used to Mok’nathal as well. Then hopefully we later get Vrykul and Ogres added.
Hence why they are an allied race, and why night worgen and san’layn are practical options for the AR roster.
Blizzard did state that the allied race system is how all races, sub or full, will be added from here on out.
Guess the core races of each faction have been established then. Didn’t know any potential races joining the war would be considered AR’s beyond this point.
Still, both these suggested allied races are practical for the roster we have now. Right now, it seems the subs and offshoots, are first to make the roster. Not saying this is how it is, but seems to be what Blizz is currently going for. The one’s closest to the core races, but are different enough to merit reasons as to why they have abilities their distant kin do not. I’d say their chances of getting into the game are still very likely.
As for kul’tirans being half-giants, they’re still considered humans. It’s as I mentioned before, each allied race is essentially the same races we have been playing this entire time. They are off shoots and altercations, but more of the same.
Night elf worgen would be like the zandalari for instance. The zandalari were the first trolls to exist on azeroth. The darkspear trolls we play are their offshoots. With the zandalari becoming an allied race, we are now able to play as the original trolls of azeroth. Same could be said with the worgen. The first were night elves that gave into the forbidden form of Goldrinn, who’s curse spread because the scythe of elune failed to control it, and made it worse. As the original worgen, we’d likely have access to abilities the worgen we play do not have. Abilities the curse initially gave to it’s first bearers. The fact that they had once been night elves might be another reason for different looks and abilities. The curse may act like a disease, different strains might come about based on the race it afflicts.
The san’layn were once members of the scourge, like all forsaken had once been. But the lich King’s magic made them more then shambling corpses and ghouls we know. Vampires, a powerful undead, stronger then any ressurrected corpse, and many times more deadly.
I don’t mind if Blizz put them off for another time, but I’d like if they made the roster eventually. As soon as possible would be better.
I personally like the idea of Night Elven Worgen still having two forms, but their Night Elf forms having more feral characteristics as well, similar to art I’ve seen with some of the men almost looking like Satyr in appearance.
This would showcase their deeper connection to the curse than Gilneans have, who still maintain their Victorian aesthetic, even in Worgen form.
I like Nelf Worgen, it doesn’t make sense they’re not available.
But please no to the San’layn. We don’t need any more edgelord elfy evil races please.
Two forms is definitely a must. We couldn’t really play this group without this ability. It’s more then a mechanic in-game. It represents the piece of their souls recovered after being lost to the beast. Also, rp wise it’d definitely be a loved feature.
I’ve been saying that for a while but every pro-high elfer just want to down every elf option that is not high elf. So they keep saying that they would look like worgen to much or that horde getting a pretty race while the alliance getting a worgen race would be unfair.
I feel like night elf worgen should have two form: A normal form that they can also use in combat that use the night elf appearance but with canine trait( like you said something that look like Satyr) and a worgen form that would have night elf trait or druidism trait ( like purple fur or feather) and antler would be cool.
