Ion I already say that Tuskars and new gnoll models for later
Alliance didnt help the Sethrak, donât suggest as if there is a plethora of evidence that they would ever conceive going alliance.
There is absolutely none.
iâd like playable sethrak. mind you, iâd preffer if they went to the alliance (they really need a good allied race to make-up for trash-gnomes), but iâd be happy if they were playable in-general.
âŠand i know, folks are gonna get bent outta shape over the lore, but câmon⊠give the alliance a break, they need something to tip the player balance a little-more in their favor.
I sincerely hope that the Alliance gets Sethrak at some point, they desperately need another interesting, less generic one. Worgen, Night Elves, and Draenei are only carrying them so far.
You know. If after all this time. All the customizations added to Void Elves. All the endless back and forth across the forums, reddit, MMO Champion forums, twitter, etcâŠ
If they actually added High Elves as the Pre-Order race. I honestly cannot imagine a more troll-worthy move, especially considering the Drakthyr humanoid form looks like a High Elf already.
I can see the flames in my mind now. A conflagration these forums has never known.
Alliance will never get a cool allied race because the willingness of a race to join the Alliance makes the race less cool.
Think about it. Why would the Sethrak join the Alliance?
The Worgen are the best the Alliance will ever do and even that was a stretch, because they are no more âhumanâ than Forsaken are.
It took a hamfisted story about the Night Elves and the Scythe of Elune to induct them into the fold.
The Alliance is generally intolerant of what they consider âuncivilizedâ behavior. There are exactly zero examples of Alliance races living wild and raw. And thatâs important, because the coolest races are always wild and raw.
The fact that Gilneans behave more like Disneyâs Beast than a Crinos werewolf is a detriment, not an asset.
When people list off cool races they want to see, how many of them are âcivilizedâ?
Of those civilized races, how many of them align ethically with the Alliance?
I canât think of one.
They have had to cheat to give the Alliance anything remotely cool, like copy/pasting Blood Elves and giving them a void aesthetic. That reeks of desperation, and that desperation is not Blizzardâs fault.
Itâs because of what the Alliance has always represented. The Alliance is everything âorderlyâ and âcivilizedâ while Horde is everything âuntamedâ and âsavage.â Elves are just about the only âorderly and civilizedâ thing that people think are cool. Some vampires are orderly and civilized, but theyâre also dark and subversive, and the Alliance barely tolerates Warlocks.
Paladin was originally the Allianceâs exclusive class. Paladins are often idolized by the sort of people who donate to police fundraisers. They certainly having their following, but itâs niche, and youâre not going to come up with a more iconic paladin than a Human or a Lightforged Draenei. So that doesnât help find any trace of âcoolâ factor in the Alliance toolkit for an allied race to latch onto.
Honestly, if I was a fan of the Alliance, Iâd feel pretty bad right now.
Ogres would join the Horde, but the Alliance is too civilized. The naga might join the Horde, but the Alliance is too moral. The Gnolls and Quillboar could be convinced to join the Horde, but the Alliance would never tolerate them.
I think the best any Alliance player could realistically hope for would be Neutral Tuskarr and Neutral Murlocs.
Giving High Elves to the Horde only, would be a next level troll move. Still, I can guarantee that sales would skyrocket and Bobby Kotick and Ion could buy new yachts.
Denizens of non-demon affiliation generally donât tolerate warlocks. I wouldnât say thatâs specifically an Alliance problem. Hell, a ton of Horde lore consists of âEvil Warlock did bad thingâ so even they are disdained there.
The Gnolls have the âHogger Dilemnaâ so I can understand the Alliance near Stormwind having major issues. Quilboar would be very likely seen as a noncompliant race to either side, but especially Horde. They have been a figurative (and literal) thorn in the side of the Tauren people, who are considered to be (probably tied with Pandaren) willing to hold off fighting unless all else fails. That being said, if lore permitted I could see a certain Bloodhoof willing to let bygones be bygones.
Among the orcs and Tauren, true. But Iâve never seen any anti-fel/anti-demon stigma whatsoever among the trolls or the forsaken.
Speak for yourself. Iâd love to get the Sethrak.
Which is a problem with how the game has developed the Alliance in general; they donât write these things for us.
And they still can.
There was nothing indicating that the Horde was going to get Zandalari - they were hostile for the longest time - until they did.
People need to stop saying this stuff.
Donât you know cross faction was implemented so they didnât have to give alliance anything anymore. Only horde wins from now on.
All alliance will get is high elves which are just blood elves with blue eyes
Yeah like the âhandfulâ of people who have been thirsty for Sethrak as an AR since BFA Beta, and have one of the longest lasting mega-threads in the forums.
Last thing Alliance needs is another human race, get all the way out of here with that BS, Sethrak would be a breath of fresh air, the last interesting and actually unique race the Alliance has gotten was Worgen in Cata.
It doesnât matter if they have helped or not. The NB/HMT became Horde-races as well despite how much the Alliance helped.
And Pandaren.
The Dakâthyr shouldnât have gotten their humanoid form, it undersells the race greatly.
Cross-Faction still doesnât mean much to me at the moment until you can start making guilds.
I got tired of the debating and having the same tired faces tugging at my sleeves for attention but I still would adore Sethrak, never stopped wanting them.
At this point too without the factions they donât even need to pick a side if they add them, just drop emâ in (if they needed to choose though, Alliance needs them most!)
Source please? O.O
I mean ⊠Didnât those orcs literally hunt Draenie?
We shouldnât judge the many by the few ⊠Or vise-versa, in many cases
This is not an argument.
Never said it was.
Just pointing out similarities can excuse an overlooking towards various details to push good ideas.
oh you seem like a good person to pass this idea by:
suggestion:
divide gilneas - half werewolf (in housing areas), half vampire (in the graveyard areas). new neutral allied race: sanâlayn - the vampire half is homebase for alliance sanâlayn. a horde sanâlayn vampire area added to lordaeron (sepulcher?). sanâlayn intros new class - necromancer. races - sanâlayn can be nightborne, orc, belf, goblin, forsaken, nelf, velf, human, dwarf or gnome. claws/darkfallen customizations
whatdaya think?
could get the cool factor from the fact the vamps would be tied to a class, the necromancer. now the argument is, would any of the alliance or horde leaders accept necromancy? dks practice a form of necromancy, so it is possible, just not palatable.
