No, not necessarily. They didn’t announce the new quest line with Calia or the Dark Ranger customizations. They kept that secret.
Well, Maldraxxians also go to the plane of the living.
And apparently, they can get anima from eating food so… yeah.
When was there an instance of a maldraxxus going to Azeroth? Necromancy isn’t the same as them just leaving the SL.
Azeroth specifically? I don’t believe there was.
The same plane of existence Azeroth is on? Yes, we saw Draka do so in her little Covenant preview video way back at the start of Shadowlands, when she infiltrated a Legion fortress on some planet that was decidedly NOT in the Shadowlands.
There’s no lore suggesting Shadowlands races cannot travel to the mortal plane. Heck, the Dreadlords are native to the Shadowlands and go wherever the heck they so please.
Considering the presence of dreadlords in SL, I wouldn’t put it past them to have somehow also slipped in some normal demons into SL before Sargeras fell, so that was maybe a place in the shadowlands itself ior one of the other afterlives we couldn’t visit. Dreadlords are also a weird retcon now, first they had their own happy planet, then Sargeras enslaved them…now Denathrius created them? its so messed up now.
That could have been in the Twisting Nether.
Dreadlords are weird though.
Do planets exist in the Twisting Nether? Even Argus technically wasn’t in the Twisting Nether, and its the Legion homeworld.
Actually, just going to nip this one in the bud. It was confirmed to be another world.
At the very least we know there was a physical prison that the Titans stuck in there. Also there’s a Zereth Fel or whatever floating around in there, so I’d say it probably stands to reason that there’s landmasses of some kind.
That doesn’t preclude it being a world in the Nether rather than the “material plane” or whatever we’re calling the physical reality Azeroth and Draenor are in.
Landmasses, sure. Worlds though? Again, if Argus itself wasn’t in the Twisting Nether, then I don’t see any planets being in there. Planets have largely been attributed to the Great Dark, which is the plane of existence Azeroth is on.
Well Argus was just a normal planet to begin with. In fact being a Titan seed it had to have been in the “Great Dark”. The Legion might have seized it as their base of operations in physical reality but they were active well before taking Argus so they had to have come from somewhere.
Let’s entertain the idea that Draka was infiltrating a planet in the Twisting Nether for a moment.
So, that’s apparently Maldraxxus not going to the Material Plane. What about all the OTHER Shadowlands races that do? Ignoring the Dreadlords, how about our Broker Friends, whom bring in materials and trade goods from other planes of existence as well, even powerful creatures for the Maldraxxi to fight in their arena?
to be fair nightborne weren’t like this and we still got them playable, albeit nothing like the npcs
I dunno, Brokers are weird too? I’m still not convinced that they’re not just Ethereals in different clothes.
I’ll concede that it’s not super clear who can or can’t leave the Shadowlans. I’d personally find it pretty dumb for random spirits from beyond to come back and be a playable race, though.
Given what we know, and how many examples we have? The easier question to answer may be who can’t leave the Shadowlands. Right now, that answer seems to be, ‘no one,’ since it looks like everyone can, assuming they have a ride.
That’s perfectly fair. My only point was, lorewise, there’s no reason they can’t. You’re welcome to find it dumb. I find a great many things about WoW these days to be dumb too. Races created from the souls of the dead doesn’t quite rank up there compared to some other stuff (like the whole renewal vs. revenge thing they’re doing with Tyrande, I really don’t see why both isn’t an option).
They will never be tanks. I’m guessing you didn’t pick up on it, but to avoid backlash against DF and keep it “positive”, he chose a “safe” answer…he didnt’ say yes or no, he said maybe. Which keeps him in a place where he can just not do it and move on without being held liable to make them tanks in the future and then called out for a “broken promise”. Kill your hopes for a dracthyr tank now…its not happening.
I’d want to see Saberon for horde. Alliance? Not sure.
Its going to be High Elves, just to troll everyone
If I remember correctly, we already got a hard no to Saberon years ago due to them being barely above animalistic intelligence. Too primitive/primal. Basically murder cats that would pee on the Stormwind AH floor then try to kill the auctioneers.
As funny as that sounds, player Saberon randomly losing controlling and killing friendly NPCs and players and then being murdered by the guards, it just doesn’t seem like a great gameplay experience. Imagine being in a raid and your Saberon loses control and goes for your healers necks. That would be Saberon.
Humans, tall purple humans, albino humans, space goat human, albino space goat human, smol hooman, crispy smol hooman, mini-me, mecha-mini-me, chungus human, werewolf (half human).
Pandas that are secretly humans in fursuits.
Alliance is 100% Human.
Drakthyr and Sethraki would be Scaly humans.
Tuskarr.
