If it was a fully geared team vs a fully geared team you’d still have the same outcome because the cave exists.
At absolute best we trade SH for SF and Horde win the race because they’re already 2 towers/bunkers ahead at that point.
No side is ever fully geared, alliance have the most geared people they’re ever going to have on AV weekends. That isn’t the best trade you can do by a long shot but yes it does require more work for alliance to win.
It’s the only reliable trade we can do due to proximity of the cave.
Unless of course you’re suggesting alliance should defend sh and cap sf or ibgy or even fw while the Horde are allowed to full send 40 people to anywhere they please because they don’t have the same burden of needing to hold IBGY.
Well no. We have 15 years of data proving the opposite
No you dont. Horde won for most of TBC. Alliance won for most of Vanilla.
Every other iteration has been either even or Horde dominant. It got bad again in BFA so they had to end up buffing SHGY finally giving it a hill so they can flank.
SF is the best option you have most of the time. Then you do what horde do at IB and try to back cap SH GY if they want to race it, which they shouldn’t since if they do that you’re basically going to lose at half honor or more or win. Token resistance at SH to start out so horde don’t just walk in and cap it instantly. Is it harder? Certainly but the only other option you have is to fight it out which is coincidentally the absolute best option you have with geared players.
That’s great and all but the other problem is even capping SF is 3x harder than it is for the Horde team.
Every single death at SF forces alliance to spawn back at the aid station. Horde get to respawn at IBGY and keep pushing.
This is why even going for SF results in not much of a win% increase.
You stay on top of the mountain not chasing people down and get your healers to rez as best as possible in between waves. You also release and don’t accept a spirit rez back at the base so people don’t see you sitting dead and loot your body so they can’t rez you. Those unable to be rezzed group up and run on the alliance right side past the bunker or through horde if they’re sending too many people back to SF.
edit or if someone is valuable enough you have a healer sit outside rezzing while fighting is going on.
You can give all the strats you want man. If we’re talking evenly matched players what do you think the results are going to be? Horde reach SF first and have defenders advantage. They choose where to engage every single game.
Assuming both teams are exactly equal in skill and comp what happens when you go 1:1 in kills at SF?
It’s the best option you have. AV is never evenly matched. I agree it’s much harder for you to win but the games i’ve been in are an auto loss at 30 minutes for alliance. Which maybe people want.
Of course they’re auto loss at 30m. That’s because the horde chose to extend the game to that mark for maximum honor. Most AV’s are decided in under 10 minutes because once we’re North of SH the game is over.
Of course horde extend it for more honor, the entire pvp scene is about HPH.
You’re implying that Alliance want to just lose.
They dont. Every game they try and fail miserably because the map is trash.
So yah after SH is flipped and we’re up at SP of course it’s in our benefit to throw in the towel. We don’t have a superior map advantage that let’s us win.
WOOOOOSH. Every point i made.
It’s really just a player issue. It has very little to do with the map.
Here are the simple facts.
- Advanced Alliance players don’t pug bg’s. Advanced Horde Players do.
- Alliance are so demoralized and convinced they can’t win because of the map ‘imbalance’ that they don’t even try.
Except for some mysterious reason Alliance are able to win more on AV weekend, surprise surprise.
So even if it was AV weekend year round do you think going from 1%-5% win rate is meaningful? Or are Horde still just superior players? If the maps were balanced even with bad alliance players and good horde players the win rate would be closer to 20-30%.
You’re literally just pulling numbers from thin air. I get it you don’t like the map and think it’s an auto loss so you want to do the worst strat possible and end it quick. C’iest la vie.
It’s not thin air lol.
My sample size is from 3 characters roughly 1000 AV’s post premade.
You can margin of error probably 5%.
Thin air. If the maps were balanaced on non av weekends i doubt the number would be even that high because your pvpers don’t queue av.
Even when our pvpers were queueing AV (the first week of premades being removed) we still had the same win rate as we do now.
Having the “rankers” there or not is not as big of a determining factor as you’d like to believe.
