I know it sounds crazy but I just won 2 games in a row and 3 games out of last 6 games.
But this only happens in AV weekends. So does that mean, Alliance can actually win games when they want to? Or is this just an irregularity, how is the situation on your end?
My sample size is quite small, it cannot even considered a data set, I actually wanted to see if this is the same with the other alliance that during AV weekends they are more likely to win. And yes that would indicate that it is a player issue. Or simply Alliance lost hope and they don’t even try during the other weeks.
Oh of course your sample size is small. However, your sample COMBINED with other peoples suddenly is a lot more better. That and a small sample size is better than no sample size.
But on the horde side, it’s about the same as well. From last night to now, I lost 2 and won like 2 or 3, which is very close to the 50/50 split.
Well, yeah about half of my wins are during that time when the rank13/14 people go to av. But you couldn’t pay me to go back to av got my rep and stuff, make sure you have quests though.
I am not claiming that we do significantly better, don’t get me wrong, but of course if it is your experience as well we might as well be doing better.
A combination of more Alliance rankers going to the BG, and more Horde uber-casuals going to the BG.
The primary problem with AV is a combination of player issues. On the Horde side, they massively outnumber Alliance as far as PvPers in general go, which means high queue times regardless of the BG. This makes AV, with its higher honor totals, a better BG for Horde rankers. In addition, the high queue time means there is motivation to get that honor.
On the Alliance, well, the primary issue is that most Alliance players are not PvPers. The Alliance in PvE realms do step into AV, but they primarily do it for rep, to get some items which are preraid BIS for several classes. The Alliance rankers, on the other hand, get better honor per hour from other BGs, which means that there are fewer hardcore PvPers in AV on the Alliance side. And the ones that are there tend to have an attitude of things being a foregone conclusion.
Come AV weekend, however, you have more incentive for Alliance rankers to get back in the mix, raising the overall skill level, while more Horde casuals come for the quests, reducing the overall skill level. You still have to deal with defeatist attitudes, but that shifts the one variable that is different in Classic from back at the end of Vanilla, when the alliance won all the time: the players.
Horde has actual ranking pvp players every AV, alliance normally has none cuz hpH is better else where. I noticed coordinated alliance 5 man ques and a scum of the earth multi boxer queing 5 lvl 51 mages on horde all night. My first 60 was alliance and I got exalted with maybe 10 wins, so I am actually ok with ally winning. I constantly advocate to stop falling back to back cap just end the game.
If that were as big a factor as people claim, then Alliance would not have won most of the games back in the day. The map is the same as it was back then. The racials are the same as they were back then. The only thing that is different are the players.
