Based on feedback, I’d say that’s probably an understatement! Though, it’s not on purpose.
I’m actually extremely surprised that more people aren’t incredibly excited by the fact that there is an imbalance, and aren’t rally together to create guilds, and overcome it! Being the underdog is incredibly motivating, as there is no real possibility of feeling loss; if you lose a 10 v 30, well of course… you did your best, but you were out numbers. But if you win! Wow, what victory!!!
Your 14 v 34 sounds like you’ve experienced that for yourself
That’s a fair point.
Is that so? Was that the case from private servers, and was I wrong to assume that any popularity on the Horde side in Retail was due to Blood Elves?
It definitely surprises me that Horde is dominant on many servers. I do understand that PVP racials are a thing, but even on PVP servers, I’d be surprised if the majority are there for PVP anyway.
Well, the quick reactions (if that’s what they were) to offer transfers, and then to limit transfers to one faction may have made the imbalance worse.
Since this has been the first weekend since Honor has been enabled, I’m curious to see how things progress from here.
Yeah, I was actually looking up leveling zones today, as I spent a great deal of today trying to better understand this problem, and noticed that while the Barrens is an uncontested Horde zone, and Horde can level to 30~ there, Alliance have mostly contested zones to level in from about ~20.
Gotta love these dimwits who roll an overcrowded faction, and when they 10 vs 1 zerg flight paths pretend that their pvp skill on display.
Real pvpers don’t need racials to carry them, but alas thats not the majority of horde who would rather sit in BG queues for 30+ minutes to ensure they outnumber the opposition in wpvp
Yes, that’s 100% why our guild is here as Alliance, on Fairbanks. We knew we would be outnumbered-- a little. But its becoming much worse now.
While you may be surprised, Blizzard wasn’t surprised, and you can’t reject that. In my many years of playing WoW (on both factions) two things have shown themselves:
Pvp tryhards will go wherever the perceived advantage is.
Casual players will go wherever the perceived “winning side” is.
Its easy to roll PVP on a realm in which you will almost assuredly always have the numbers advantage. It’s easy to then claim to be some great player that overcame the hurdles that a pvp realm brings. That’s why its easy for even casual players to roll Horde on a pvp realm.
Perhaps it would be better for you to come to Fairbanks, as Alliance. I’ll invite you to our guild and you can get to know who some of us really are.
We can chat it up in the discord. You can learn that many of us came from private servers, and that we came here specifically as Alliance to a realm that we were in the minority.
You can learn that even though… yes… Horde has better racials… Alliance has Paladins. In the hands of a very good player we actually believe that Paladins are the true strongest factor in deciding an (otherwise) even pvp battle.
p.s. It seems we have been part of The Balance Movement longer than you have.
And redridge connects directly with a level 50+ zone, making it an easy target for high level players to get to and grief people as low as 16-17. The horde can get to 28-30 in the barrens and then spam SM til 45. They have the choice to not be flagged until level 45, there is no alliance equivalent.
You can get to 32 or so in safe zones on alliance side. But the dungeons and gear/xp you get from them is no where near as good as whats available to horde in their friendly territory.
“Horde, just stop using your advantages in PvP and maybe us Alliance will have a better chance!” This is by far the silliest thing I’ve read in the Classic forums in some time, and there’s been some rather silly things posted as of late. Nobody’s going to willingly handicap themselves in world PvP just so the opposing faction feels better about themselves. LOL.
Two can play at that game.
Humans, don’t use Perception to detect rogues, eliminating their opener, their one thing that gives them any real advantage in PvP.
Dwarves, don’t use Stoneform to get rid of ALL bleeds, diseases, and poisons on yourself. Yeah, especially you rogues… how dare you be able to re-stealth a little bit easier!
Gnomes, don’t use your 1 minute cooldown Escape Artist to dispel roots and snares! NO!
Night Elves, don’t use Shadowmeld for ambushing unsuspecting foes!!! How dare you??? … Okay, Shadowmeld kinda sucks in vanilla WoW, but you get my point… I hope.
I’ve literally killed level 60s on my 55, even in 2v2 situations (with other 50s) so I think you are just clueless as to how reality functions. If anything the horde is worse at pvp, just because it has so many (bad) players.
