Wish we’d all just get along more often than not. I don’t remember them being super unbalanced myself.
I greatly disliked them at first. Went on a few rants myself actually.
But then I tried them and got involved with their community. I don’t have too many issues with the armor myself cause I really really love their heritage armor, but I have plenty of misgivings about the limited colors for our metal bits.
We could have so many more entertaining armor combinations if we had more variability.
Now this is one of my favorite toons and honestly if I was told I could from now on and forever only play him, I wouldn’t be unhappy at all.
I’ve never understood this complaint especially when you choose what faction you play. You saw the race list, you picked the faction. Why the hell did you choose alliance if you didn’t like the more classic fantasy tropes?
People complained about a bug on PTR with Regeneratin’ healing after being damaged when it was supposed to stop. It was obvious this wasn’t intentional and got fixed quite quickly on PTR and of course people on these forums freaked out about that. The additional nerf it got to 4 to 6 seconds made zero sense since the racial was very mediocre once it was fixed.
So fox people using the goblin frame counts as new race? Hmm…fair enough i guess as at least we didn’t get those fish goblins. If Alliance doesn’t get Sethrak though would you be alright with fish people like those from BFA or the jinyu from Pandaria? I mean still a new race and they’re able to communicate better than murlocs…and less likely to eat someone’s baby like a murloc
If you’ve paid any attention to the old High Elf requests this is false. Many people didn’t want a carbon copy of the Blood Elf model.
There were years worth of threads of people putting together concepts for a High Elf model that was unique compared to the Blood Elf one. Even putting together ideas from existing lore to give them a unique culture when compared to Blood Elves. One of my favorites was for the High Elves of the Hinterlands that abandoned Arcane usage to find a way to take up Shamanism which would have made them the only Elves in the game with access to that class.
There were other examples but thats just one. Alliance players for the most part didn’t want Blood Elves. That’s what we got because Blizz tried for so long to avoid giving Actual High Elves. Only settling for half baked compromises until we got the situation we have now.
They were a major race in Warcraft 2 and have been begged for by the playerbase for over a decade.
Pandaren being neutral threw out the argument that them and Blood Elves would look too similar to be differentiated between.
Void Elves were not what the playerbase asked for. They were a “compromise” that Blizzard made the right choice backing off on to give High Elf options.
Giving people cosmetic requests like this has absolutely zero negative effect on your experience playing the game. I personally don’t like Mechagnomes. I don’t get on here and complain about them though because people genuinely enjoy them.
Let people have things. It makes them happy and makes the game better for everyone. The “High Elf players ask too much” trope is played out.
