Dont forget to mention that nearly all gear model are base on the human model so they are made for more alliance race than horde race. Prior to bfa, blood elf ( and recently Nb) was the only model that wasn’t hunched, didn’t had giant shoulder or shoulder that didn’t fit for the forsaken, didn’t had on feet between the helm and the chest/shoulder( tauren) or wasn’t a tiny race.
It was obvious that a tall monster race that can fin normal into gear was going to be popular.
I still don’t understand their weird obsession with humps. When orcs were getting reworked in WoD there was a huge push from players for them to stand up straight since lore-wise only peons hunch, which Blizzard even publicly mentioned. Took them two more xpacs to finally get around to fixing it.
My issue with Darkspear Trolls (love them to death, lore and all), not just the hunch but Zandalari Trolls xmog filled them better, they arnt as lanky and thin as Darkspears, most Xmog on Darkspear trolls look absolutely horrible (hunch could play a role in this too) .
Darkspear trolls should get more customisation options giving them a more beefy look and they’d be . Also should be an option for Kul’tirans switching between the beefcake model or thinner model.
I’ve had ample chances to die in pvp. Ret paladin LFD. everyone loves to pile up on a ret.
Not even joking…the small fall damage for horde as they rush to the north by muddy mid section by the drop off by the gy in AV is more damage than this.
Horde voluntarily gives itself more damage than this racial.
Heals ain’t good either. No team has said damn…the lfd died but look at that power heal, thank you!
And thus, this cements again why the Horde “gets what they want” and the Alliance not argumentation.
They need to fix their current beastly race (Worgen) to a greater extend first by giving them claw fighting animations and tails. The fantasy isn’t really developed enough to support the current model to its potential.
They will likely get some with their heritage armor when the race gets reworked.
It would the faction imbalance out by moving the majority of us Horde-players over to the Alliance.
To be honest Void Elves should be factionless! I don’t know why the WoW Gods aren’t transforming their outdated philosophies and instead of fostering in-game racism.
Honestly, I’m of the thought the Allied Race concept failed on delivery regardless of faction.
Highmountain, Mag’har, Lightforged, Dark Iron, and Mechagnomes all could have just beefed up the customization of their parent races and there could have been a “Racials Revamp” of some kind. All their customizations are easily transferrable to their parent races, and it just feels like a way to make cool customizations consolidated into races that are markedly not-cool as standalones.
Otherwise, aesthetically? The Horde Allied races have always felt like they were given way more TLC. The sheer detail put into Zandalari compared to Kul Tiran was honestly staggering; and Kul Tiran females still look like they have a thousand yard death stare. And to try to compare Mechagnomes to Vulpera at all is just a no-contest.
That being said.
Nothing will tip the scales for Alliance. Ever.
Pretty races, buffed racials, and a 25% War Mode buff don’t change the fact that there is frequently just 0 Raid, Arena, RBG, or M+ listings through the premade finder and other in-game communities. Who wants to play on a faction if they’re just going to be alone most of the time, or if playing that faction just means you’re choosing to make the game noticeably harder for yourself?
This is the biggest problem we all have with the races. They could have simply been a nice addition to their core race.
The Kul Tiran are alright but they are humans which is the problem. The Zandalari Trolls are the best out of the bunch because they were a very highly desired race we wanted to have.
They didn’t put much thought into the Mechagnomes. Wowhead also had a news back then where they have shown that the race had reduced quality control. The developers didn’t even put care into the heritage mount and how the diaper babies hold to the steering knob. But it’s nothing new for the Alliance when it comes to being the second fiddle. They even forgot to switch the LFD mount out. I couldn’t believe this myself until I saw the pictures.
Just so you know, both zandalary and KT release was delayed because of how much work KT needed. Zandalary use both male NE and regular women troll model while KT needed a new model. To say that more work was being give to the zandalari is just so wrong.
