We have regular humans, chonky humans, short humans, tiny humans, humans who can sprout fur, some pandas, some elves, and space goats that are basically elves with curved spines.
And lots of horses.
Before the model update, I had a healthy mix of all these races. After, not so much. Now most of my characters are void elves and night elves for alliance side. The animations for the others changed too much.
Meanwhile on horde, I have: blood elves, nightborne, vulpera, a couple trolls, a couple big moos, some undead, a goblin, and like one orc. For the faction I like less, their variety is appealing. Even their class/race combinations are cool. Dinosaur druid forms and troll paladins.
Horde has big green humans, blue-green long eared humans, two types of Elf human, tiny green human with big noses, Foxes, taller still blue-green humans with long ears, cows that are trying to be humans, Brown-coal skinned big humans, dead humans and pandas trying to be human.
Theyâre all human.
Doesnât matter which side youâre on you can reduce them all to that.
Iâm not even sure Blizzard know whats going on with Gilneas these daysâŚ
To some degree, yes, but our âhumansâ donât even resemble any person Iâve ever seen in reality whatsoever. Either way, most of these are hardly touched in game for our faction.
I hope Blizzard will continue to ignore Gilneas because when they pay too much attention to our cities, they explode, become uninhabitable by radiation or blight or trapped in a time bubble like Exodar and Silvermoon.
I wouldnât even be surprised if during the Janitorâs attack on Azeroth, Gilneas was among the places that were permanently destroyed, sinking into the sea, to add to the drama.
They donât even have to put up the entire work of making Gilneas a functional city, if they donât want too. There was enough room in Stormwind that with Cataâs rebuild they could have added an entire Gilnean quarter. And a full ânight elf + allied racesâ quarter in BfA.
Instead 1/3rd of Stormwindâs a giant graveyard. With Varianâs giant ostentatious grave adding insult to injury in BfA by replacing the park district wholesale instead of Cataâs damage being repaired and the park restored, for, say, the Night Elf refugees who could use it.
Ironforge had more players being funneled into it is mostly the reason people were there back then which made finding people for groups a whole heck of a lot easier.
Cities need to have a reason to be there and Blizzard went through effort to funnel people into Stormwind and Orgrimmar by removing convenience from other hubs like Shrine and both Dalarans. The reason I assume they did this is because Exileâs reach so new players see the main capitals are populated.
As for Gilneas I donât see it ever becoming a hub unless Blizzard makes it relevant to be there. Gilneas would be DoA outside of RP purposes if they just simply turned it into a city.
As far as mechagnomes go whatâs stupid is giving them underwear on metal legs. All because Blizzard realized that if a mechagnome transmogged their shirt to be hidden they were naked and they just had to put underwear on those skinny metal pipe legs. When the mechagnomes even say in mechagonâs questline that augments can and will end up removing any genitalia from the equation when mentioning loss of reproductive organs in the upgrade paperwork so there wasnât any harm in leaving it how it was as they got nothing down there unlike their fleshy gnome kin
I canât post links on these garbage forums, so all I can suggest is doing a Google image search for âWoW 40k Gnomeâ. The first image that comes up (at least for me) is the kind of potential that Blizzard had for Mechagnomes. I would totally make a Mechagnome warlock or shadow priest if you could have mechanical spider legs, metal claws, and robotic tentacles.
This is the problem right here. Horde has a bigger population, so more and more people switch to Horde every day. The factions simply need to be merged at this point for PvE or something.
Iâd love to be a cute Naga Siren Draenei or Night Elf again
The only thing Alliance needs is Void Pallyâs and Void DH.
Oh, and give Horde Nightborne Druids. Screw lore, Blizz messed that up years ago.
Alliance actually has some pretty cool races. I have a lot of friends that would love to play a Dark Iron Dwarf. The problem isnât the races, itâs the community. Horde just has a much bigger community.
There is no doubt that the Horde is community-wise favored in this game. Every time we complain they do something fast, the Alliance is most of the time extremely neglected until the next patch cycle or when things really go out of control.
They are already playable and in the game (Boralus). What most people donât know is that the game uses a body mass-slider for its characters. This is also backed up by the massive topic after BlizzConline 2020 where a modder showed what everything is possible and how easy it is to implement these things into the game. They could have brought in thinner KTs within hours.
The Alliance needs updated Worgen, the Arrakoas, Jinyu and perhaps the Furbolgs to fulfill a better race diversity. The Sethrak should have been an Alliance-race but it will be a Horde-one, like the Saberons.
Alliance-players are no snobs. They are in a position where they are irrelevant because of the developers letting the issue slide and the community amplifying it. The story also focus only on humans for the most part which doesnât help either.
The Alliance needs a complete overhaul if you ask me. Put all humans together as one single race, reduce the time to turn into a human for the Worgen and fill the other slots with fantasy races with good racials. The current Alliance cannot compete with the Horde.
It was a make-up gift for the massive backlash with the BfA-mounts and it truly belongs only to them if you know the lore. This really needs no discussion if you just google the âAlliance Horse memeâ and see the comparison pictures. They deserve this mount but shouldnât have access to a few available to the Horde.
This has nothing to do with which race/faction you play. I could have opened the topic as well because objectively speaking, the Alliance is an undesirable faction and the sooner we help them, the better it will be for the health of the game. This is supposed a 50:50 game and not a 80:20 split.
Itâs just a story which can change any given minute. If they want to, they can make a campaign why the Bloodhoof Tauren would be allowed to visit Stormwind City and they will find a way.
10.0 will show if they truly learned from their mistakes.
I do hope they push the Pandaren to be more in the future. Making them perhaps neutral and able to travel in both cities would be a big thing going forward for them.
Still a better race diversity which you have to agree with.
