I feel like if more people would give them an unbiased try and actually let themselves play them they’d mostly find they have no issues at all.
You guys got your faction-exlusive bee mount. Give it a rest.
they got the only AR with a new rig and the only AR with 2 races in it and ofc the topic was created by an alliance blood elf. stole the hordes most played race but we still need more!!!
The level of butthurt I read here is disappointing, against any chance of seeing the alliance receive something other than a vexation like junkgnomes, kultirans or purple blood elves, which only serve to feed the cries of having something stolen from the horde, when having a blood elf was never a dream of ally players who were 40 renegade blood elves of the horde.
Blizzard gave a carbon copy of blood elf without lore painted purple, and now we have to put up with the butthurt of the horde, invalidating any ideas we have why Blizzard, in its infinite incompetence, stole something from the horde to the ally, instead of give us something unique and desirable, because of trolling by Blizzard.
Everything is an excuse to invalidate new ideas and relegate us to mediocrity.
They were all a negative breach of expectations and will always be marked with the rancidity of having been something with the least interest in fulfilling the fantasy of having interesting races in the alliance. Everything or a recolor or a recycling poor in both lore and appreciation. Did that attract something to the alliance besides trolling?
Sethrak, Arakkoas, Saberon, Jinyus, Furbolgs, Vrykul can’t be on the ally because either they match more with the horde, it’s too much work or it’s a waste to create a lore that allows any of them to be in the alliance, when it’s obvious that things like that we had in BfA, they had lesser work and efforts, they didn’t arouse appreciation or desire even in the horde.
The thing is so sad that if a dragonborne race were made for 10.0, it would either be no faction or just the Horde.
And Blizzard would create a race of goblins for the alliance.
That assumes everyone cares or likes bees.
For some Alliance folk this didn’t matter as much as you might think…
That doesn’t mean folk wont ask for what they want to see.
While I don’t entirely agree that anything we got was subpar. Not everyone is happy with it clearly.
A slam dunk huh.
There was a massive effort by High Elf fans for years to get a unique model that wasn’t a carbon copy. Even people delving into lore reasons to move High Elves in a different cultural direction AWAY from Blood Elves to further keep the two Thalassian groups unique. As i said earlier on in the thread one of my favorites was them learning the ways of Shamanism through the Hinterland Elves due to their abandonment of the Arcane & their friendship with the Wildhammers.
Yet all of these things were still attacked as “stealing” from the Horde/Blood Elves.
Outside of High Elves though and the allied races, this isn’t really a new theme for the Alliance. The Alliance’s history/lore being invalidated or made into a joke/mediocrity has been a common theme & complaint from CATA to Present Day. I still remember even back in CATA the crusades trying to deny the Alliance from even retaking history territory like Stromgarde which was a hot topic in that time period before it eventually happened in BFA.
Personally don’t think the Alliance has any claim beyond Stromgarde really.
The denizens of most of the former territories north of there are still around… they’re just Forsaken. (Gilneas is Alliance though… Worgen should retake it.)
Even the Aerie Peak (and I love Wildhamemr) is under heavy contention at best.
i want a new race/class combo hopefully something dragon related
And the Priest’s space station. And the Warlock’s moon base. What’s up with those?
There are several possible races that could be adapted to warcraft, and at least one could be adapted to alliance.
Any one of them would have been better than a ridiculous race of humans whose only difference is being obese, a group of 40 scholastic blood elves that make up an entire race with insignificant lore created to justify a placebo, and a race of gnomes who mated with toasters.
But Blizzard wouldn’t miss a chance to perform another joke with the alliance.
I don’t think we can expect Blizzard to make such an effort for Alliance, when most likely the factions will be turned into something of cosmetic value in the future. Something with illustrative value but without importance in the story.
Options don’t seem to be a desirable thing in the alliance if it’s just up to the devs’ imaginations.
I did. Their racials are great, but I think aside from bleeding edge types those aren’t super important. We already have gnomes, and they were already a lower population race before mechas. Mechas don’t do well with transmogs since most pants look like diapers.
There’s a reason they aren’t played much. And it’s because they’re an offshoot of a lower population existing race who look bad in most gear.
Take my like.
That being said, the ridiculous rainbow slurry of allowed player races is one of the (minor) reasons I dislike 5e. It’s Humans, Dwarves, Elves, Gnomes, Halflings, Half-Elves or Half-Orcs or go home. Tieflings or Aasimars or Dhampirs if you really must be edgy.
That’s also one of the reasons I dislike Allied Races. I feel they dilute the original factions’ identity. Plus, the way they were introduced means they feel half baked. No starting zones, no capitals, just… dropped in for cosmetic appeal. Bleurgh.
Return Void Elves and get whatever unique race you want
Ask Blizard for this, as Aunt Blizz decided we would have purple and renegade blood elves anyway.
Your updated look is fabulous BTW.
Maybe. Could also be the abysmal issues with unlocking they had.
Its clear that forum users tend not to like us much, though I don’t think that excuses the… lets say… harsh words we get any time we’re brought up.
All in all though its hard to say exactly why we’re not played as much. Blizzard may have better data though. Who knows maybe they’ll give us much expanded customizations when they get round to us and lots more folk will like us.
I don’t want to return them. Honestly I want more void options.
Blizzard didn’t want to do any work but then, it was part of their policy to funnel all players into the expansion hubs only.
Well, that’s also a sad thing: that any hope of new capitals and starting zones seem forever sidelined in favor of Stormwind or Orgrimmar. Remember back in vanilla when Ironforge was actually the place where the Alliance hung out most?
Yeah Blizzard needs to do an about face on that… Build up all the capitals and give them equal utilities.
The lore and story should matter more than them trying to hide how few players they have now.
Heck if they’re really worried about that they can just merge the servers more…
