Alliance needs a slam dunk Allied Race

Shadowmeld is just one racial compared to the “damage burst options” the Horde delivers with Orc and Trolls (and why they are very popular to this day). And even if the Alliance has something comparable (Dark Iron Dwarf), nobody from the core players would actually care to play because everyone interested into min-maxing has already moved to the Horde or plays something else.

Let’s just hope this system is not a soft solution but a full-fledged feature.

Due the model-sharing philosophy the Horde will get the Saberon, unfortunately, I believe.

What Blizzard needs to do is realize that they have given horde all the menacing, monsterish type models. We get dull drab ones. Alliance needs a race that looks like they are going to mash your face in.

Quite certainly. But I’m sure Blizzard will go the extra mile and create a wooden gnome model for the Alliance to be the opposite race to the sabers going into the horde and that will be something that will make the Alliance’s prestige bloom again.

I mean, who would trade a pinewood gnome for a huge humanoid feline two meters tall and 200 pounds of muscle and tribal wildness that Blizzard loves?

I mean Saberon and the Bontani would most likely be added together and lets be real they will most likely be wooden elves or humans with little to no customization with a very strong racial thrown on it to at least attempt to get the 3 alliance players to roll one like they did with Mechangnomes.

Either way with cross faction coming it won’t matter too much.

Yea! Choosing to be in the alliance will no longer have any meaning and value, when all that’s left is to go to Orgrimmar, like a homeless, pleading for groups and leftovers of soup and moldy bread.

But at least it’s the most uplifting thing we can hope for in the future.
Blizzard is so good for the minions of the horde!

The amount of horde players that are “I’d love to play X alliance race but that involves me rolling Alliance” is extremely high. There are a ton of ways Blizzard can approach the cross faction platform. Even with a mercenary type system you are going to see a massive amount of race changes and people playing what they want. This does nothing but benefit the Alliance in terms of population at this point.

They honestly should just re-do them all.

Sethrak use the Worgen female skeleton. But still new. I don’t count the frame. The frames were used for the most part to make it easier to develop most of the allied races.

I personally don’t like the Jinyu or their Ankoan cousins. But you’re right, they would be a new race and could be a good Alliance race in that respect.

I just want to play a snake person cause I adore snakes. They’re my favourite animal. xD I have a ton to identify with the Sethrak because of that.

I’ll play Horde if the Horde get Sethrak. :woman_shrugging:

Oh, absolutely, positively not. People have asked for vrykul since they were introduced, usually as an Alliance race. They want them as a full race with their own racials, mount, heritage armor, etc., not a skin for an existing race with a nameplate that will serve as a perpetual reminder that they got a placebo instead of the real thing, for the second time. Outside of their shared ancestry, modern-day vrykul and Kul Tirans have little in common and their cultures are probably completely different.

And no, body types will almost certainly not be a thing. There’s no way they’ll give Kul Tirans access to four unique rigs (Kul Tiran, thin Kul Tiran, Stormwind human, and vrykul) while male trolls just get forest trolls (same rig, but the model is slightly more muscular) and races like pandaren get nothing. That’s not even the standard in other MMOs, so this game wouldn’t be any different.

Many people will play in the horde if the horde is given a new race like sethrak/saurok/taunka/ogre/saberon/Arakkoa/Furbolg/Gnolls/Vrykul that is interesting and adds value to the horde.

And the opposite also applies to Alliance. If there is nothing interesting or that adds value to Alliance, no one will come. We will remain alienated in ostracism.

Oh great here we go again.

I feel like Furbolgs have been forgotten in recent years. But they’re one of the last “Allies” of the Alliance that haven’t been added. By that i mean their old allegiance to the Night Elves before most went crazy as well as that friendly tribe on the Azuremyst Isles. Aside from High Elves, Furbolgs were a race i’d always wanted to be playable on the Alliance. Always thought rolling one as a Shaman could be fun.

Would they be everyone’s pick? Probably not. But i think they would have been a WAY better choice than Mechagnomes were. And they could have fit the theme of BFA. Maybe the Night Elves recruited or did something to cleanse the corruption of a Furbolg Tribe that joined their battle in Darkshore.

Furbolg would absolutely be Alliance.

Junkgnomes were only an offensive failure because Blizzard, in its infinite trolling, paired them with vulperas.

Junkgmomes, like some other races delivered to the alliance in BfA, came at the wrong time and in the wrong way.

If they had used giblins, it would have been the perfect match.
But they gave the horde a Ferrari and a glow-in-the-dark yo-yo to the ally.

The feeling of being shafted was obvious even in the horde.

10.0 has speculations related to dragons.
I hope if something new is made, it’s a new class or nothing, because if it’s a dragon inspired class, we all get something.

If it’s a dragon-inspired race, it’s almost certain that Blizzard will make it at least both factions, which will lead to everyone making mostly characters in the horde.

But if they do something unique in the horde, I already anticipate the backlash further rediculing the alliance, since for Blizzard there is no way to add value to Ally without making a mockery.
Another race made on the basis of compromise.

I have never said there’s no problem. I merely said it’s entirely player created (player banding together where they could have split evenly just as well) and that it’s now unfixable. You can’t keep the divide and keep it balance. That ship has sailed a long time ago. Now more than ever with the playerbase being as low as it is.

Everything you have said is easily countered by the mere fact that this whole thing has been in the players hands this whole time.

Its either Sethrak or Vrykul at this point. Both have reasonable situations why they’d be willing to be a part of The Alliance. While Sethrak barely has any interaction on EITHER factions but The Alliance pretty much saved the devoted from existing if they didn’t save Vorrik. With the Vrykul, its matter of who else would be compared to on The Horde’s side, which would be Ogres. Both of these giant races are of ancestral origins, while Ogres are more like branching relatives to the Orcs, with Vrykul really just being straight up what humans are that we play as now.

Needless to say, we need more UNIQUE races. No more elves, no more humans/orcs. Something that was made with effort. If Super Smash Bros had a problem with Ridley being “Too big” but somehow still made it work in their game. Sure as hell Blizzard can do the same when it comes to adding Vrykul/Ogres in the same fashion. Of course that’ll also take away that Ogres may take over the show too. Which is why Sethrak are the best next possible choice if Alliance needs a “Winner”.

You say that, but the most popular races are Humans and Elves.

Yeah, and a lot of female players tend to like playing as Blood Elves/paladin combo because they like the look of them and think Paladins are very “Lawfully good”.

Lets not kid ourselves, its overrated to be something that remotely human-looking. If anyone wants to be something, that’s fine but we don’t need subspecies. Its boring to be something that we already are in reality. We need actual diversity. Why did you think Vulpera won on so many fronts? Small, cute, actually vicious, and possible furry pandering for those kinds of people.

Blizzard missed so many opportunities and can still manage to make it happen, if only they bothered to listen…

Just give us the Arakkoa man…

Yeah, the “Kawaii” aspect is definitely something the Horde didn’t have before.

That’s why some kind of cat-girl for Alliance makes sense. And you could make it fit the lore. Maybe 10,000 years ago, some of the Night Elves were spared from the Sundering and scooped up by Elune and they lived on the Moon. And they’re smaller and they have these little cat-ears, or something, because “Elune Wild Gods Scythe of Elune yada yada” reasons.
