Alliance needs a slam dunk Allied Race

It’s a lot faster now that you can skip the dungeon parts.

Though I agree after the expansion they were released in further AR should be automatically unlocked.

I also think they should never again be tied to reputation. Instead only as story unlocks with most tied to the start of expansions/leveling zones.

With one or two releases in patches.

The way Blizzard wanted it. All the way Blizzard wanted it, for Alliance.
And it’s not a lack of options or ideas. This is how Blizzard sees the alliance and this is how many like to keep us.
They don’t expand our lore, they don’t create changes that benefit the alliance in history. Beta for Azerith was a disappointment. Sadoland is being a disappointment both in lore and development and in prospects for the future of the alliance.
Compromises, shafted choices and options that lead Ally into negative feelings. All planned up to 2 years in advance by Blizzard.

Have Mercy.

They plan is to give the Horde the Saberon at some point - another diverse race the Alliance will not see due the “shared polygon construct” because they will use the Worgen-model for this.

And how should this help the Alliance? Another Draenei-Race? Increasing the duplicate counter to three Draenei-races because the three human-races got lonely there atop?

The Night Elves need a complete rework anyway. Their bodies do not look anything like the official artworks and they still can’t use the supposed heritage armor we have seen during Battle for Azeroth.

I hate seeing this so much. The game is supposed to be a two-faction system which got ruined by the developers catering only to one side. It ruined World of Warcraft.

It’s not that their allied races are not popular, it’s that alliance aren’t and/or void elves are too much.

That’s never been the cause. The cause is players banding on one side because it’s the more convenient thing to do. Say you have a choice of 2 parties. One has 2 guys sitting on the sofa, the other has 8, playing beer pong. Which one would you be attracted with?

It’s not our problem to solve this but the developer’s. The player will always go to the side with the least resistance. But the developers are supposed to maintain and manage the whole system, not us, not the players, not some “professionals”.

What can the dev do?

  • force people on one side? Nope, i wanna play with my friend, if I can’t, I stop playing
  • buff racials? Proven to not work
  • free transfer? Who’s gonna be the guinea pigs that sit in a corner while waiting for more to come, that might never happen so now they’re stuck?

It’s very simple, actually:

  • Alliance Racials updates to make them more attractive with values determinated by global statistics. A racial % can therefore rise or drop based on the faction imbalance.
  • Remove the faction restrictions for the players while keeping it for the lore. Let people switch the faction/race with a two-week restriction. This would also require the reduce the price for a (forced) faction change or even completely remove it.
  • Introduce a new faction-change offer based on the current price which let you change all your characters within 48 hours.
  • Offer the top 25% player base a free transfer/faction change for all their characters

Let’s revisit your thoughts when they redeem Sylvanis and make her a half human half high elf so she can marry Anduin :joy::joy::joy:

Blizzard doesn’t change Lore :joy::joy::joy: do you and I even play the same game.

There has been 10,000 (Blizzard will never do XYZ responses on forums because those is how they wanted it) followed by Blizzard changing XYZ.

You’ll forgive me if I don’t stop voicing my opinions on what I want to see because forum poster number 4574190 said it apuosnt happen.

Funny back in 9.0 I made a post requesting more druid travel forms and I specifically requested the night fae stag as a travel form. Got like 20 people replying it would never happen with all sorts of negative replies. I am not saying they made these changes for me but if players never asked for things they may never happen.

Enter patch 9.1.5 dun dun dun

“Blizzard doesn’t change lore” I suppose it’s impossible with how closely the alliance has worked with Thrall that humans didn’t pick up a thing or two on Shamanism.

Changing Lore is not the same thing as evolution.

The racial buff is already debunked. Since BFA they have been simmed better but still horde has more.

And again, a free transfer or (rofl) just a cheaper one, won’t fix anything because nobody will be the guinea pig.

The only thing they can do is remove the faction divide altogether.

This was not the topic at hand.

To reintroduce balance you need also to dispense. It’s like losing weight, you need to forego your habits. Of course the Horde will feel the changes but it will be better for the game if they do not let the players together.

Yes, this would allow people to play what they want, unbound by race and faction. Just hope the developers are smart enough to go this step. They buried themselves into this mess and it’s upon them to get out. Not us.

That’s the thing though, the horde doesn’t care about balance because they are on the “winning” side in all this. Nobody would purpsefully reduce their ability to play for the side that’s losing.

And this is Blizzard’s fault for not maintaining its core feature. Just because you feel good about it doesn’t mean it makes it right. This is also why we have actual issues in real life when it comes to climate change. The easy way out will bring ruin.

But of course all of this is absolutely impossible to do.
Imagine Blizzard doing something like this.

Certainly, the alliance’s problems will be resolved by doing nothing or adding races like kultirans, junkgnomes or purple bloodelves, added to a lore that causes dissatisfaction, disappointment and embarrassment with figures participating in the expansion, as is being done with Elune and Tyrande.
Not creating any pump fist moment for the faction in BfA or sadoland will also help to improve the faction’s image.

Unfortunately, at Blizzard, there is neither the will nor the means to undo what we have now.

I despise the idea but there is no other solution than to go homeless to the horde.
Changing something now can hurt the horde and it’s not worth saving the alliance from ostracism at the expense of the horde’s health.

It would be something very risky for the moment of disbelief that the game faces.
Let the alliance remain moribund. :skull:
No bigger role than a butler in the lore and development of the game.

Let’s all at alliance making content in the horde because undoing what exists now would be a job for the jailor’s brother, the janitor.

Have Mercy!

I still fail to see how people flocking to the horde to have a bigger pool of players is somebow an issue that Blizzard created or that they could fix without removing the divide.

We’re all going to be the same faction next expansion anyway. Seems like that could solve the problem.

Only real race change I want to see is red Draenei who can be rogues or warlocks.

The problem lies within the developers whose instincts are measured around their tribalism for the Horde. The Horde first, everything else is secondary. This attitude ruined much of WoW because it’s a core principle which is felt across the whole game design.

Just look at Legion. Because they couldn’t make the Horde “work” story-wise, they neglected them almost completely. And BfA is exactly the same with the Horde getting several high quality CGI-videos which were not necessary at all. Ion Hazzikostas’ team focus is unhinged without thinking about how others feel across the board.

This is the big elephant in the room. Because one side prospers without bounds, it destroys the other one completely. I think this was also the theme of Thundercats 2011 with their short-lived “race barriers”.

I do not doubt you have problems seeing this (no provocation here). You are the kind of player who does not want to change because it’s “good” and you fail to feel - not see - the impact it has. The problem lies in the game design which you have not paid much attention to. Blue/Red is a core system which got neglected on purpose.

If this problem would have stayed at the top, then nobody would actually bother discussing it. But I think we’re through this discussion now.

Well, my heritage armor is already a butler outfit.
I just hope we receive titles in the alliance as “servants of the horde”.
Except the Night Elves. They must be given the title “horde punching bag”.

You mean the armor where they didn’t bother to give the pocket watch physics while the Goblin-Armor has EVERYTHING attached with it?

You have no idea how disappointed I was when I unlocked it with my Worgen-character. Makes it also double for the lack of “coat”-design for the supposed “Greywatch mantle” design.

Update the Saberon model, add a female version, give it to Alliance. If an updated Saberon model looked half as good as the Hrothgar from FF14, I would most likely play one and possibly even race change a few of my alliance characters.

At this point it has nothing to do with blue vs red, or racials. Shadowmeld is one of the best M+ racials to have, too bad Alliance M+ PUG meta is garbage. You basically don’t get keys above a 21, and sure, y’know, if you really want to push you can find a group of friends, but sometimes you want to PUG, and Horde can do that and Alliance can’t. Doesn’t matter how good your racials are if you can’t play the game.

This is something only Blizzard can really solve at this point - because the player-driven solution involves all players in the entire game funneling over to Horde and I don’t think that’s something Blizzard wants to happen to their game.

Blizzard has let the problem fester to profit off faction transfers, but it has nearly hit a critical mass and it is obvious based on their rhetoric Blizzard knows this and will open X-faction gameplay next expansion.
