Alliance needs a slam dunk Allied Race

Give me any of the SL races. Those are cool already

A new race or a new 15 races isn’t going to make people play WoW, just as it’s not going to make me play one after all the stuff I have done on my main.

I have no clue why people care about this stuff, or why there are so may threads on it. Do you sit there staring at your character zoomed in the entire time you play?

Meh, I think we just need a second model for the existing core races. To undue the stupidity of each of them.

  • Worgen without an absurd hunch
  • Humans without the stick in their bum
  • Dwarves that look more Stoneborn or Frostborne
  • Broken
  • Nelfs that don’t look like they live in Brooklyn/have a trust fund.

Our avatar is in the middle of our screen all the time. I definitely care about it even though I’m very much a gameplay-first type of guy, because looking at our character’s position in the world is part of gameplay. We’re looking at it constantly, so we definitely want it to look cool.

I see you have a helm on your Druid. I bet you 1000 pieces of popcorn that you wouldn’t notice the difference while playing in M+ or PVP, or raiding if you were playing a night elf, or a blood elf, or a Zandalari Troll, or a Troll.

And since these are unknown looking races, who says you like them at all? And lastly, you like NONE of the races you can use now? I say take the helm off and you may have a point, but it’s 1/4 of a point. Not an actual real point.

I absolutely notice the difference between playing a dwarf and a Female Draenei (the only good Alliance Shaman race IMO).

Anywho, the “Helm Off” comment is a bit weird, but here are a bunch of my alts -

Yep.

So an empty threat if so.

First the space goats crashed a ship.

THen…they parked in a big mall parking lot and forgot where they parked it lol.

But so did the illidari. I don’t even want the ship back so much. I want to know what happened to its crew. I mean when BFA hit we knew where the people in hunter order hall went. they went back to their factions.

Where the heck did 6 my armed demons go?

Ya, I can tell the difference between a gnome and a troll too, that wasn’t the point. If they make another race that is roughly the same height and looks like a “human” form (arms, legs, head, upright, etc), like all of the current races do aside from a Vulpera I guess or other obvious height differences, you would 100% not know the difference unless you started to focus on it.

The overarching thing is I really don’t care at all about this either way, but I would rather them get the actual game back to not sucking before they put a ton of resources into more races or classes. We have double the races that used to exist. It’s quite enough.

And with those Frostborne could we finally get our eagle mounts? Been waiting since Wrath. :stuck_out_tongue:

The people who care would care. People love the Cat girls in FFXIV even though they’re not really that different from humans. Same animations and what-not.

And new races don’t really take that many resources, not compared to a new class or new system or whatever. Races are very much worth the effort since they’re often low-effort. Look how much people love finally being able to RP a High Elf alliance side. If Blizzard had just pulled the triggered and fully committed to it (High Elf Paladin) it would have been purely upside for very little expense (take a thing that already exists and let the other faction play with it).

Well, good luck. Hope for your sake you get more. But until they allow you to get heritage armor with a race change, I wouldn’t even think of changing characters, especially with 100 exalted reps, the insane, and a bunch of other stuff on my Troll.

And don’t get me wrong, I hate playing a troll. They are lumbering and annoying, too tall, but the racial is great for Mage for CD stacking. I find most Horde races kind of ugly.

Certainly!
Seeing alliance players go begging groups in the horde as homeless is certainly the best that can be done, after Blizzard’s negligence in doing something that didn’t resonate in both lore and races, as in the environment we have today.

The alliance can’t hope for anything better, which doesn’t include seeing their players reduced to the servants of the opposing faction.

This makes factions, their races and lords meaningless, but what other solution can we have without it hurting horde players or forcing the devs to work on something they act like if they do deliberate sabotage?

The best would have been to make ally something that didn’t fall into jokes whether in the game or in the Blizzcons but it’s no use complaining about it anymore.

The damage is done and changing that would require a job Blizzard is unwilling to do, if not rumble into more jokes with recolored kultirans, junkgnomes or blood elves, made in Kezan by some stingy goblin and sold as second-hand leftovers to Alliance .

And the horde itself prefers to see the alliance reduced to a joke, so it joined the useful to Blizzard to the pleasant for the Horde.

I am all that is needed :sunglasses:

A lot of “Horde” players are “Alliance” players who are playing Horde because they want to play the game.

This Druid I post on the forums with is right now a Tauren so I can find M+ groups which are non-existent Alliance-side in the range I play.

If we have X-faction, a lot of players who are Horde could go back to Alliance without losing the benefits of access to the Horde high-end community.

It doesn’t make Alliance “servants” to the Horde, it just means most people can safely play Alliance because nobody ever feels like they might be missing out playing the race they want to.

this makes the existence of the alliance meaningless. Why should there be a horde and an alliance, if everyone wants to play only in the horde?
So that just makes the alliance a decorative faction.

As Van Cleef said: “Servants! All of you!”

Not everyone wants to play on the Horde.

The top of the top played Horde because of racials. Then they had no motivation to swap back, so they stayed. 2nd tier guilds just under them went Horde to pick up strays or players looking to work their way up or who were dropped from those top guilds. 3rd tier guilds just under them went Horde to pick up strays from THOSE guilds, or players looking to work up into 2nd tier guilds. 4th tier… okay you get the idea.

People play Horde because people play Horde because people play Horde because people play Horde because… ending with “Goblin Racial was really good during WF Tomb of Sargeras”.

Take away the faction divide, and that feedback loop gets shut down.

I mean thats what happens when horde is BY FAR more played, yes the allied races will also be more played. You could add all the horde allied races to the alliance and they wouldnt see nearly as much play.

Dear lord I sometimes forgot to be thankful to not be there, thanks for the reminder. But to the topic, this is less about people not minding them being similar to humans as much as the for lack of better words weeb aesthetic that comes with it. If it was a boar or bear person or you would see drastic decrease in play.

Catgirl on the left. Human next most popular. Bunnygirl is much less popular.

That said, Catgirl was a launch race, Bunnygirl was added an expansion, so inertia in a game where your main can be every class might explain that.

The catgirl cult outnumbers the bunnygirl mafia easily 10:1 in anime fandoms :face_vomiting:

Shouldn’t have to spend 20 hours doing achievements just so I can unlock a race to play a fat version of a Shaman.

Anesthetics are one of the main things I like about the game. There are zero versions of Shaman alliance races that look good to me.
