Most of these issues have arisen due to limited servers from the onset and groups deciding to concentrate on them. If you select a server that consistently has had high queues from day one, it shouldn’t be surprising when they remain. The xfer was a good option to help the population sample encountering this.

For a service delivery company to provide options really shouldn’t be shocking.

Even if it is simply PvP => PvE xfers for those who want to migrate.

Adding a pop ratio to the server list and faction-specific transfers isn’t going to affect gameplay, and will give the community more informed decisions.

Even with the current amount of servers, removal of layers will be interesting to see. It almost seems like Blizz is implementing new servers with a similar overflow methodology that the layers use. As one fills, they will create another and open xfers. Yet, they have the data to model an approximate amount of servers appropriate for the current playerbase relative to the population/server they intend on enforcing.

Enough servers and an idea of population ratios on them isn’t much of a request.

I do appreciate how rapidly these forums degrade into name-calling, it adds a good laugh to my days, so thanks for that. It seems like people become very emotional to simple feedback to a company.

my dude if you bought a chocolate chip cookie and it had one chocolate chip in it you would be like “wtf is this”. if it was like entirely chocolate with a speck of dough on it you would be like “wtf is this”.

people want to compete, but they want the competition to be fair. Really basic concept.

I moved from skeram which was about 80% horde to Heartseeker that looked like something like 55-45 in favor of alliance… wasnt that bad on first days but its getting worse every day, I feel like it’s 80% alliance now. Why doesn’t blizzard lock transfer from factions that have more? this is such a bullsht situation, you cant play on a balanced server.

Nah. WM happened because people stopped playing the game if their characters were on the minority faction. The most common player-made suggestions were bulk or discounted transfers, and making players immune to other players a certain number of levels higher than them.

War Mode was entirely Blizzard’s baby.

Hey, there’s people asking for (shudder) arenas.

this i disagree with. arenas are awesome.

I know this is what they did in the past, I think it was WotLK? Alliance only or Horde only transfers to certain servers. I would have to look it up.

It’s not possible to fight back. Even if alliance had every player in the zone join forces they’d still be outnumbered by horde. It’s ridiculous. For every alliance player I see running around near me I see at least 4 and sometimes 6 horde.

I hear some of your points but the issue is with pvp servers is that blizzard inflated the imbalance issue on every server by allowing transfers to take place with no restrictions. Alliance were on average outnumbered by about 20% on most servers and when blizz opened up transfers to smaller realms the “losing” side fled in droves to the smaller servers while the winning side stayed because they were less inconvenienced by the other faction to begin with. Now instead of a 20% disparity its 60-80% on every server. For one faction it basically is a pve realm with how rare it is to even see an opposing player. I would even argue to say rolling pve would give you a more balanced and exciting pvp experience once you are flagged at this point because the outnumbered faction didn’t have to feel inconvenienced if they chose not to flag and therefore had less incentive to flee and create a larger imbalance as a whole.

" a strategy to fight back" against overwhelming imbalance?

Sounds like they did - they transferred. Leaving the previous Horde imbalance with no one left to fight and a dead PvP server. Sounds like a well-played Alliance strategy to ‘victory’ while they enjoy a potentially better-balanced destination

I played Alliance on Skeram up to lvl 38 and just couldn’t do it anymore. What pisses me off though is Blizz got rid of one of the only tools to combat gross faction imbalance like this. With cross realm battlegrounds the 75% horde server gets to have their cake and eat it too. /unsub

I wonder why Blizzard can’t employ some kind of quota check for unique accounts being able to create characters on PvP servers. Another words: Herod has 1,000 unique accounts with Alliance characters, and Alliance char generation is locked until Horde are within ~2% unique account margin on a server. Sure, other factors like continued play time, people who discontinue playing Classic, etc. on said, on said server would impact also regular headcount, but at least on a server launch, if you try and force a balance via some kind of quota / cap / unique account-to-Faction balance, it would address people ending up on servers that feel overwhelmingly Horde, or Alliance, thereby maybe eliminating the desire for people to flee these scenarios to a new server where the balance is hopefully a little better?
