Alliance are fleeing via Free Transfer, faction imbalance worsened

Blizzard had a great opportunity to implement a system that made server capacity faction specific so that when one side fills up the other can still fit more people in… but Nope. It’s obvious that when free transfer opens one faction tends to leave in greater number than the other. The most unhappy are the first to move.

They could also restrict free transfers to the faction that’s overpopulated but that would only make sense if server cap was faction specific.

What if I told you all this is exactly how it was in Vanilla too, with the exception of Alliance being the overwhelmingly larger faction on nearly all servers (not just the PvE and RP servers).

Blizzard isn’t going to do anything because this isn’t a gameplay issue. Its a player issue.

I think many if not most sensible pvp players would prefer a balanced server to one where either faction dominates. It’s just less fun for everybody but the most sadistic gankers and corpse campers.

Unfortunately with the overall number of people that rolled horde on pvp servers there will never be more than a couple of balanced servers.

This is exactly what they should do. If the server population is not balanced simply make the server seem ‘full’ to the faction that’s too high and make them queue. This would solve the imbalance issue and also make people think twice about which faction they choose in the first place.

That’s the cost of playing an edgelord.

Whorde deserve all the loneliness they endure. When you roll a faction that emboldens a certain type of player and game play then you reap the benefits - AND - the tribulations.

All the PvP servers are a gankfest. I dont get how a lvl 60 gets off on killing players 35 levels lower? For hours. Everyday there is some moron horde killing lowbies in Darkshire or Redridge for hours on end. Why dont we call for help? We do., the losers comes back or runs from anyone who might kill them and starts all over again.

Activate the honor system.

Honestly Horde do it to themselves. You gank when out numbering. You camp ubrs and brs from people getting in. Enjoy the long que times in PVP you earned it

a friend xfered after those dungeon entraneces were camped for like 2 days straight.
horde deserves nothing

Bumping because of the recent update to realm transfers

All the Horde should band together and transfer to Heartseeker and create a balanced server. Blizz wont fix it…it is on your plate if you truly want balance.
Horde has posted some pvp videos on heartseeker. They make me want to play there. If I can a couple to go with I will move my main over.

The math does work. It’s very possible for all servers to be 90/10 in theory.

If the 10% on one server leaves for another, it’s possible that they are going to be the same ratio as the server they left.

Can they be that out of ratio? Sure.

Are they? No.

There’s been many player substantiated posts in their experience across several servers ranging to imbalanced for BOTH horde or alliance to others being relatively even.

Imagine playing on a 90/10 server and trying to honor farm.

Once phase 2 hits those 90/10 servers are going to turn into 98/2 servers.

LOL that made me laugh

Best solution? Allow high faction transfers to low faction servers.

E.g.
Allow the higher pop Horde on Herod to go to the lower pop Horde on another PvP east coast server.

Id die laughing if this just causes even worse imbalance.

that’s what you get for being on the faction that does nothing but gank lol this char I don’t even play anymore because I switched to EF lol what a mistake.

The truth is that no ones going to leave a server when they are part of the dominate faction, alliance or horde.
Horde attracts more of the pvp crowd so they are going to be the majority on most pvp servers. Alliance is mostly a pve crowd so they are going to flock to pve servers. The few alliance that pvp are going to leave their servers because of constant ganking/grief. Lets be real, it takes a certain mindset to involve yourself in that behavior (you can see them berate others in this very thread).
PvP servers are always going to be imbalanced and horde favored. It was like that in retail, it will be in classic. All your alliance players are on 2 pvp servers and all pve servers.

So not true but whatever.

I think that people who really want to pvp tend to pick Horde over Alliance. Maybe it’s the cool factor of being the “bad guys” or maybe it’s because of the racial abilities being really strong for pvp. Most of the Alliance players I encounter just want to run their dungeons and raids, then hang out in Ironforge. Relatively few form up groups to go camp BRM or LHC, but I constantly hear about Horde groups doing exactly that in guild chat.
