The fun is being had by the people killing you.
For my part whenever Ive encountered alliance around my level I just wave at them or ill help them kill a mob theyre fighting. Ive been ganked by some higher level alliance but whatever. I MC’d a guy off the lift at 1k needles/barrens but he had levitate the bastard.
Don’t worry… once i have a mount ill be alot more aggressive.
Alas, I hope it ends up being that it balances as well. We’ll see knocks on wood .
Quite frankly, individuals of either faction making statements such as “just reroll,” “you did it to yourself,” “no right to complain” are juvenile. Everyone has a right to comment on their experience, it’s the only way to create visibility into an issue players of both factions are encountering. Just like you can express malcontent with the imba of your original server and not get shot down, Horde can do so as well. The more community members discuss this, the more likely Blizzard will recognize it as a potential detractor from longterm subscription count. This is a chronic issue with WoW and was in vanilla as well, there are steps Blizzard can take to facilitate an improved experience for all players, but they have yet to openly recognize the problem of imba servers. The negative responses that you received aren’t justification to make the same ones. Blizzard simply adding population ratios on server selection would go a long way to alleviate this. I know I’d personally pick a server as close to balanced as possible.
The worst is when they just stand there and let you kill them. Like I can understand if maybe it’s a much higher level, 5v1, or a really really poor class match up, but there have been ones that do it when I know for a fact they could likely kill me if they tried.
On my realm, horde has controlled nessingways camp in stv for the last 2 weeks straight.
If any ally dares to try and even pick up one of the many quests from that hub they will 24/7 face a group of 10 to 20 horde outnumbering and instantly KoSing them 20 to 1. Every time.
Attempts were made to form raid groups to take it back so people could get quests but as soon as you stand a fighting chance they call in a group of 60s to corpse camp your entire raid.
Pvp is fun but this isnt pvp this is purely blizzard endorced griefing.
Horde population is 3 to 1 on our realm. (Appears this has worsened to 5 to 1 after the free transfers and census breaking)
Thanks blizzard. How hard would it have been to employ some population control, nah as long as you get your subscription money doesnt matter right?
They don’t even need controls, at least show the A:H ratio on server select so it’s truly on us where we decide to roll and not a shot in the dark. Controls would probably help, but at least give us information to go on.
Paid CT would help a lot to. Blizzard gets their cherished ROI, we can escape if it’s truly unplayable.
Nobody can prove any of the numbers, being that Blizzard refuses to provide non GDPR subjected data to their customers.
Barring that, the collective experience of many players on a particular server of a particular faction, compared to the collective response of the opposing faction on said server, is the only possible stand in.
When you log on and it always feels like 10 v 1, and a majority of people consistently say the same, while the other faction is discussing how difficult getting mob tags is, you have a barometer of conditions.
I actually joined alliance knowing we will be the underdogs and that it won’t be such an issue because of the fact that I can handle being slightly outnumbered and BGs will make it a non issue.
What the faction balance has become is a joke and the fact that BGs will be cross realm just diminishes the experience even more.
Horde are dumb asses that will kill world pvp and then have to wait 2 hours for BG queues. Same thing happened in Vanilla except the faction imbalance wasn’t so bad. I expect world PvP to be completely dead come phase 3 and beyond.
is this a joke? For every 1 reroll you get 10 xfering refugees.
The stab wounds blizzard willingly puts into the faction balance on a server by allowing the underpopulated faction to transfer off can’t be fixed by people rerolling.
must be perspective because I have only ever seen the opposite. Years on PVP servers and I only once saw ganking horde stay and fight even odds. Every other time we went and tried to turn the situation into a good even battle the horde would run away like cowards and completely maintain the ganker streotype.
Battlegrounds are another thing entirely but world pvp has players that are not interested in a good fight all over the place not tied to any faction. I would guess it’s probably worse horde side because how many rolled horde in hopes they would never actually have to fight?
the only way this can be solved is with faction balancing server queues. say you allow 5k concurrent players on a server (just tossing out random numbers here). Faction-specific queues should occur to keep factions within 5% or so of each other. Say you have 2500 horde characters logged in but only 1500 alliance - horde would have a queue until that number becomes more balanced whereas alliance characters would log in instantly until again, the numbers were more balanced.
Horde players, transfer to heartseeker, alliance planted their flag there and over the past week the server went from medium to high pop soley from alliance xfer. Do the other servers and heartseeker a favor and come over with your friends/guildies. It could potentially be a well balanced healthy server if some horde actually come over, untill then alliance are doing everything they can from lowbie ganking to camping high level dungeons with large groups to greif horde off of the server.
Could be said if you don’t want to be smashed by high levels you should roll PvE.
Their isn’t level restrictions to PvP, you knew that going into it and you still did it. Don’t blame someone else for bringing help they have available and act like every fight you have is even on both sides.
