All you computer and coding wizards, is blizzard right?

Fake News since they reported over 15k concurrent regularly

You’re calling the document that the Nostalrius team released “Fake News”

?

Yes because it’s revised. Nostalrius first reported over 15k concurrent on (one) server, the pvp one. I have no idea why they would later release what you just posted, as it contradicts what they first stated

Also they had >40,000 on shutdown day. Since it became mainstream and Dallas the normies made accounts. So it’s very odd that this graphic shows absolute peaks at just over 12k

You’ve kinda left me a bit flabbergasted here. You are calling the Nostalrius team liars, and using some earlier cited number (that you don’t have a source for) instead.

Okay… This community has truly lost their marbles now.

It was in their official post when blizzard dmcad them. Whatever this graphic is, is not what they officially stated

Right on their website on shutdown day it said there were >40,000 playing

pve realm

The pvp realm was the active realm bro

Wait I that read wrong .

During final shutdown
That’s after most players were kicked

Are you reading? Just say it, you’re calling the Nostalrius team liars and you believe that you have the true numbers. Just lay out your conspiracy theory in full so we can move on.

How could their highest concurrent players simultaneously be shutdown day and also only be 4k peak? Makes no sense

Is this mythical 40,000 number you’re pulling out of thin air, concurrent or total players logged in at any point during that day?

Concurrent. In their post they said “we had over 40,000 0layers concurrently logged in to witness the final shutdown”

Your article must have been a typo

I very much doubt Blizzard is using crappy hardware. You folks need to take a step back and think about your claims that all Blizzard has to do is throw money at the problem. That’s not how things work in the real world.

You can choose to be naive all you want but private servers that turn big are a business. Maybe Nostalrius wasn’t, but you didn’t show me any evidence that Nostalrius ran with more concurrent players than Classic mega realms. Chat speed isn’t a reliable measurement here, especially when you’re comparing retail chat (as if people talked in retail!).

The Classic project was a success, they have no reason to lie. They are selling boosts every day, selling subscriptions to people who wouldn’t be subscribed for retail, heck, selling a bunch of transfers.

Maybe Nostalrius wasn’t, but you didn’t show me any evidence that Nostalrius ran with more concurrent players than Classic mega realms.

Well I mean no one has shown me how many players are on classic servers either since blizzard won’t release the numbers so I guess we are at a stalemate Magnus

15,000 concurrent is the capacity limit of Classic servers. There are scripts you can run in game that virtually confirms this.

I’ve tried to find the post you’re quoting and I can’t find it.

I can’t either. They memory holed it apparently.

Over 13,500 is the highest concurrent number they mention here. Read it, try to eliminate your confirmation bias. This is an enormous, informative document.

We dont even need to run the scripts, weve seen it with TBC launch on grobbulus. They control the limit.

Which is why I think it’s reasonable for blizzard to be able to handle a much higher number.

The Nostalrius team made significant gameplay compromises to be able to handle that load. It’s all in the document.
