All you computer and coding wizards, is blizzard right?

It’s called people can’t handle the truth, if you work more than we do then your life is going to reflect it by preventing you from having any real time to yourself.

I just wish when my old Server only had enough to front a few raids per week they merged it with other low pop servers.

I wouldn’t of had to move to grob back at the end of classic.

Just any kind of help for end of life servers would of been nice.

LOL wow welcome to being every adult in america.
everyone works these hours.
we all have hobbies. stop making excuses and admit you just dont know how to have fun

When someone says they work more than i do they better prove it.

It’s probably some dumb for-loop written in 2001 by someone who hasn’t worked at blizzard for 10 years leaking memory but no one’s brave enough to touch that legacy code

Third party servers already prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are outright lying that it can’t be done. You don’t need any form of coding background to know that.

The decision is purely financial, but the cost of lying is less than the cost of telling the truth.

I dont work in the field, but Nostalrius was a thing.

20-25k concurrent players every day with NO LAYERING. They used tech that slightly reduced the render distance for other players (it honestly wasnt very noticable).

This allowed them to run the most popular pserver, over 1million characters, with peaks of 25k online at once and zero layering.

Now if blizzard is willing to implement something like this is on them, but saying the technology doesnt exist doesnt seem truthful when young guys in their basements did it better.

This was prior to the tech. Read further. The server peaked higher, was well over 12k. Lol you obviously didnt play it.

He cherry picked, assuming nobody would call him out on it. The context is very clear if you open the document. IE: Nostalrius was supporting 12000 current players at peak PRIOR to implementing further measures to increase it.

You can delete the post really quick to save yourself some embarrassment.

Read further lmao they talk about it peaking over 15k and 4k in some zones at a time. Youre right its not 25k, but they did touch close to 20k if you actually read further. Also none of what youve said discounts what i typed at all or the point i made so not sure why youre failing to reply like this.

“I was wrong about everything b-b-but you’re failing!”

What was i wrong about?

Reread.

Youve 3x now failed to read the document further lmao yes you are failing. Youre a little man

Just embarrassing man.

You can see that that graph shows MONTHLY values, not concurrent peaks, right?

I’m literally linking you the concurrent player count that the Nostalrius team provided from the server launch right up until 10 days before they closed down.

An adult can admit when they were wrong.

Lmao u dont even understand why what youre linking is wrong. Read the full doccument.

Even if we take that graph as the be all end all, it shows a 13k concurrency, which is both higher than the 12k that you originally posted by ~8%, and higher than the 10k Blizzard proposes as a hard cap by 30%.
